Reinheart Blake’s Lieutenants & Patrols

Reinheart Blake’s Lieutenants & Patrols

Blake’s leadership style is strict and militarized. Every lieutenant has clearly defined areas of responsibility, and patrols are coordinated to maintain total control. Each lieutenant has their own personality, specialties, and combat style, giving the island a layered defense system.

1. First Lieutenant – Callista “Redshot” Veyne

Role: Firearms Specialist, Harbor & Ship Security

  • Appearance: Mid-30s, lean and quick; a scar across her left eye; wears reinforced leather coat with hidden pistol holsters along her torso and thighs

  • Weapons & Gear: Twin flintlock pistols, dagger, light steel vambraces, and a concealed powder pouch for quick reloads

  • Personality: Ruthless, coldly efficient; loves psychological intimidation; respects speed and precision

  • Responsibilities: Oversees Blackreach Harbor, incoming/outgoing ships, and the pier guards

  • Patrol Pattern:

    • Main harbor gate: rotates every 30 minutes, with two pistol-ready guards

    • Along docks: periodic inspection every 2 hours

    • Random checks on anchored ships at night

    • Keeps a fast boat for sudden interception of suspicious vessels

Redshot is known to be the first to engage intruders, using cover and mobility over brute force.

2. Second Lieutenant – Brann “Ironfist” Korvak

Role: Land Enforcer, Field Operations, Punishment & Labor Camps

  • Appearance: Stocky, muscular, heavily scarred; iron gauntlets for intimidation (not actual heavy armor)

  • Weapons & Gear: Brass knuckles, short sword, chain whip; carries small powder flask for improvised fire hazards

  • Personality: Brutal, enjoys physical dominance; enforces Blake’s will on the labor population

  • Responsibilities: Oversees Orange Hills and Whitefield Flats, punishing disobedience, supervising enslaved workers

  • Patrol Pattern:

    • Morning: Inspects laborers during first work hour

    • Midday: Mounted patrol along hill boundaries

    • Evening: Checks sentries and rotates punishment squads

    • Keeps informal watch over smuggling paths to prevent escapes

Ironfist rarely uses firearms, instead relying on intimidation, hand-to-hand combat, and the threat of violence.

3. Third Lieutenant – Selene “Shadowstep” Auri

Role: Reconnaissance & Coastal Surveillance

  • Appearance: Slim, almost ghostlike; black and dark blue clothing for night operations

  • Weapons & Gear: Dual short pistols, hidden throwing knives, grappling hooks, lightweight armor for agility

  • Personality: Silent, cunning, unpredictable; values stealth over confrontation

  • Responsibilities: Patrolling Watcher’s Teeth, Smuggler’s Run, and secret coves along the coast

  • Patrol Pattern:

    • Night: Solo recon along cliffs and sea stacks

    • Day: Moves unseen among coastal forests for early warning

    • Uses coded lanterns and flags to signal Blake’s fleet and reinforcements

Shadowstep is the island’s eyes—rarely seen, but capable of picking off lone intruders or relaying positions of enemy forces.

4. Fourth Lieutenant – Darrick “Bloodscale” Tyros

Role: Shipboard Captain & Rapid Response

  • Appearance: Tall, wiry, tattooed; black leather coat, bandolier of pistols and powder flasks

  • Weapons & Gear: Multiple pistols, hand crossbow, short cutlass; small utility belt for explosives

  • Personality: Aggressive, confident, tactical; loves fast strikes and ambushes

  • Responsibilities: Commands small ships and launches raids along Chainwater Shoals and Wreckgrave Current

  • Patrol Pattern:

    • Daily fleet rotations in northern coastal waters

    • Checks shoals and currents for rogue ships or fishing vessels

    • Maintains readiness to respond to intrusions within 2 hours of Blake’s signal

Bloodscale is Blake’s “hammer at sea,” striking intruders before they can organize.

5. Fifth Lieutenant – Maris “The Warden” Kael

Role: Prison & Interrogation Specialist

  • Appearance: Mid-40s, imposing, always in dark leather with steel studs; cold gray eyes

  • Weapons & Gear: Whip, short sword, small hidden pistol; carries lockpicks and restraining chains

  • Personality: Sadistic but methodical; enjoys extracting compliance and loyalty through fear

  • Responsibilities: Oversees Gallows Market, Burned Villages, and all captured personnel

  • Patrol Pattern:

    • Morning: Inspects prisoner pens, notes missing or broken restraints

    • Afternoon: Supervises labor assignments from prisoners

    • Evening: Oversees interrogations or executions, ensures morale of guards is maintained

The Warden ensures that fear is maintained consistently across Oakhaven.

6. Sixth Lieutenant – Kaelen “Stormeye” Dravik

Role: Magical & Arcane Enforcement

  • Appearance: Lean, pale, silver-trimmed black robes with light armor underneath; keeps a hood over his head

  • Weapons & Gear: Focused on mana-based attacks, minor protective charms, throwing knives

  • Personality: Detached, analytical; extremely loyal to Blake’s command hierarchy

  • Responsibilities: Monitors Black Fog Corridor, Watcher’s Teeth, and hidden points along the coast for magical disturbances

  • Patrol Pattern:

    • Dawn: Inspects coastal fog conditions, ensuring coverage of shipping lanes

    • Daytime: Works with scouts for magical reconnaissance

    • Night: Sets wards and triggers illusions to mislead intruders

Stormeye makes Oakhaven unnavigable for ships unfamiliar with its waters, giving Blake tactical advantage.
