The Wayfarer's Guild

Origins and Purpose

The Wayfarer’s Guild was founded to confront a recurring threat: the emergence of sprawling dungeons filled with monsters, traps, and treasures. These labyrinths appear unpredictably, often near cities, bringing both opportunity and danger. Without regulation, adventurers would descend recklessly, monsters would spill into the surface, and chaos would follow.

Thus, the Wayfarer’s Guild was born — not only as a hub for adventurers, but as a bulwark for civilization. It is the Guild that:

  • Regulates dungeon access to prevent uncontrolled incursions.

  • Organizes quests so that dangers are contained and rewards are fairly distributed.

  • Maintains stability between reckless adventurers, pirate crews, and city rulers.

For common folk, the Guild is a promise of safety. For adventurers, it is the gateway to glory.

Structure and Membership

No individual can join the Guild alone. To register, one must form a party of at least three members. This rule ensures teamwork, survival, and balanced parties inside the dungeons. Lone wolves and duos are turned away — the Guild has no use for doomed souls.

Upon joining, each party is registered under a shared name, and their deeds are recorded in the Guild’s ledgers. Their rise in rank depends on three key factors:

  1. Power – the strength, skills, and magical prowess demonstrated by the party.

  2. Reputation – how well they are known, whether feared, admired, or respected.

  3. Completion Record – the number and difficulty of quests successfully achieved.

Ranks of the Wayfarer’s Guild

Each rank determines what quests, facilities, and privileges a party may access. Advancement is celebrated publicly within the Guildhall, and every step forward echoes across the adventuring world.

  • Bronze Rank ⚔️

    • Entry-level for new parties.

    • Limited to basic quests: resource gathering, scouting, and culling minor monsters.

    • No access to VIP areas.

  • Silver Rank ⚔️

    • Achieved after proving survival skills and completing several successful runs.

    • Access to mid-tier quests: escort missions, monster extermination, and dungeon mapping.

    • Modest privileges: access to better contracts and shared equipment.

  • Gold Rank ⚔️

    • Reserved for trusted parties with a record of major accomplishments.

    • Access to high-tier quests: boss hunts, deep dungeon expeditions, and bounty contracts on dangerous outlaws or pirate captains.

    • Privileges include VIP halls, higher pay, and Guild sponsorship.

  • Platinum Rank ⚔️

    • Known across regions, Platinum adventurers are celebrated as champions.

    • Granted access to elite missions tied to dungeon stability itself.

    • Privileges include private lounges, direct negotiations with rulers, and unrivaled rewards.

  • Mythril Rank ⚔️ (Legendary)

    • Extremely rare, reserved for those whose deeds have changed the course of history.

    • These adventurers are given direct authority within the Guild to shape missions, command Sentinels, and negotiate with kingdoms.

    • Their names echo across the seas and lands.

The Guildhall

Every Guildhall is a fortress of order and adventure:

  • Quest Boards: constantly replenished with contracts for every rank.

  • Ledgers and Scribes: recording every deed, reward, and failure.

  • VIP Halls: reserved for higher ranks, where secrets, rare maps, and precious contracts circulate.

  • Sentinels: elite Guild forces tasked with sealing breaches and repelling dungeon monsters that attempt to escape.

The Guildhall is more than a building — it is the heart of the adventuring community.

Role in the World

The Wayfarer’s Guild ensures that dungeons remain a source of opportunity rather than destruction. Without their control, creatures would pour into towns and ports, unchecked pirate crews would exploit the depths, and adventurers would die in chaos.

For every would-be hero, the Guild is a promise:

  • A place to find quests, always.

  • A chance to grow in strength and fame.

  • A safeguard against the endless dangers of the deep.

To the world, the Guild is not just an organization — it is the shield between civilization and the abyss.
