Alignment: Extreme Preservationist
Status: Sealed (Conditional Activation)
Classification: Vanguard Core Sub-System
The Obsidian Protocol is a suppressed emergency directive within the Vanguard Core. It was created during the final days of the Axiom Concord as a last-resort countermeasure against total dimensional collapse.
Unlike the Vanguard Protocol, which selects five anchors to stabilize reality through unity, the Obsidian Protocol empowers a single anchor designed to survive collapse alone.
It was never intended for routine activation.
It is a weapon of endurance.
Counteract catastrophic Breach escalation
Resist Null Dominion corruption
Maintain thread cohesion during near-total collapse
Operate independently of standard Core synchronization
Unstable resonance output
High dimensional strain
Partial immunity to Breach distortion
Emotional dampening effect on surrounding anchors
The Obsidian Protocol does not amplify hope.
It amplifies survival.
The Vanguard Protocol represents unity and shared stabilization.
The Obsidian Protocol represents singular resistance.
When active, Obsidian resonance interferes slightly with Core harmonics. Prolonged simultaneous operation may destabilize Nexus systems.
The Obsidian Protocol was encoded after a Concord guardian held a collapsing thread together manually.
Fragments of that guardian’s final resonance remain embedded within the imprint.
If overused:
The Sixth Ranger risks dimensional desynchronization.
The Core may prioritize Obsidian survival over team unity.
The Archivists may classify the Sixth Ranger as a persistent anomaly.
