Hive Structure

Recovered Eclipse Research Data

Classification: Restricted

Contrary to initial assumptions, Cerebroids do not appear to be a singular hive intelligence.

Evidence suggests a highly specialized caste-based biological society comparable to eusocial insect species observed on Old Earth.

Each Hive is centered around a reproductive Queen and consists of numerous specialized organisms engineered for specific purposes.

No evidence has been found that separate Hives share a collective consciousness.

In fact, available data indicates that individual Hives may compete for territory, resources, and biomass when supplies become limited.

Drone Caste (CB-D)

The most common Cerebroid form.

Drones are responsible for:

  • biomass recovery

  • nest expansion

  • corpse processing

  • brood maintenance

Drones exhibit limited tactical awareness and primarily operate under direct Hive guidance.

Hunter Caste (CB-H)

Specialized pursuit organisms.

Hunters are optimized for:

  • tracking prey

  • rapid assault

  • infiltration

  • target elimination

They demonstrate significantly greater mobility and aggression than standard Drones.

Guardian Caste (CB-G)

Defensive organisms assigned to protect critical Hive assets.

Typical duties include:

  • defending brood chambers

  • securing Hive entrances

  • protecting Queens and Breeders

Guardians display heavily reinforced biological armor and increased physical resilience.

Breeder Caste (CB-B)

Biological reproduction and processing organisms.

Breeders convert harvested biomass into:

  • new Cerebroid organisms

  • nutrient reserves

  • genetic material

The destruction of Breeders can significantly reduce Hive growth potential.

Architect Caste (CB-A)

Specialized construction organisms.

Architects are responsible for:

  • forming Hive structures

  • reshaping organic matter

  • repairing damaged Bio-Ships

  • constructing incubation chambers

Recovered data suggests that large-scale biological vessels may be partially maintained by Architect organisms.

Speaker Caste (CB-S)

Rare and poorly understood.

Speakers appear to function as communication and coordination organisms within the Hive.

Their observed capabilities include:

  • strategic coordination

  • information processing

  • complex behavioral adaptation

Researchers theorize that Speakers may serve as extensions of the Queen's will.

Queen Caste (CB-Q)

The reproductive and neurological center of the Hive.

The Queen is responsible for:

  • reproduction

  • genetic adaptation

  • Hive coordination

  • long-term survival strategy

Without a functioning Queen, Hive cohesion rapidly deteriorates.

Surviving organisms often become erratic, aggressive, and incapable of coordinated action.
