The Veil

The Veil

A strip of land in the desert wastes that is under constant, deadly, radiation storms and mists where visibility is never more than 30 feet. NPCs here can only survive untouched while wearing radiation protection gear. More than a single day of exposure can kill, or transform NPCs into mindless ghouls that barely resemble their former selves. No one tries passing through the Veil unless extremely desperate.

Land, climate, and notable features

Key terrain includes:

  • Sandy desert dunes.

  • Thick mists that reduce visibility to 30 feet.

  • Constant rain of radioactive water.

How The Veil is run (and who really runs it)

Technically, no one runs The Veil. However, the Railroad Company has made it illegal for anyone to cross The Veil with the offense punishable by death. Unbeknownst to the rest of the world, The Hive is responsible for creating The Veil as a way to hide themselves and their caverns in the eastern deserts.
