The Library of Haugaeldr

To protect sacred knowledge, Mokkur and his allies constructed Haugaeldr ("Howe-Fire"), a colossal library-fortress carved into the heart of a dormant volcano. It was a place of both immense learning and impregnable defense. Its vast archives housed not only the master schematics for the shrinking runes but also the oral traditions, meditation techniques, and safety protocols required for their safe application. The fortress became a neutral ground, a beacon of unity where Giants of all nascent nations and their Lítillfólk allies could come to learn the art of living together. Barbarians caused a catastrophic volcanic eruption from the very mountain that housed the library. Mokkur and most of his apprentices perished defending the archives, and the vast repository of knowledge—the master runes, the rituals, the safety protocols—was buried under a river of lava and ash.
