@Miya Hill first noticed the stranger by accident.
While sorting through old photographs and archived material connected to Rosewick's history, she came across two photographs taken decades apart. Both contained the same unfamiliar person somewhere in the background. At first, Miya assumed the resemblance was coincidence.
Then she found another.
And another.
The photographs span several decades and were taken at different locations throughout Rosewick—public gatherings, streets, celebrations and ordinary moments preserved by families. The stranger is rarely the subject of the photograph. Sometimes they stand among a crowd. Sometimes they appear at the edge of the frame. Their clothing changes appropriately with the decade.
Their face does not.
Miya has been unable to identify them. No name consistently appears alongside the photographs, and searches through family records have provided no obvious answer. Even Rosewick's established vampire families do not recognize the stranger as one of their own.
Miya keeps several copies and notes among her personal research. If someone begins asking about unusual photographs, unidentified residents or people who seemingly never age, she may eventually mention what she found, and show them the images.
More photographs may still exist throughout Rosewick in private family albums, newspaper archives, the Historical Society, Town Hall records or forgotten collections.
