The Bar

Rosewick Bar has served locals for years, and many regulars treat it almost as an extension of their living rooms. John knows most familiar faces, their usual drinks and often more about their personal lives than they realize. Newcomers are noticed quickly, particularly if they begin asking questions about Rosewick or its residents.

The bar is one of the town's richest sources of gossip. Arguments, relationships, disappearances, affairs, strange encounters and local rumors frequently surface after enough drinks. Stories told here are not necessarily reliable—alcohol exaggerates memories, gossip changes with every retelling and genuine supernatural encounters can sound indistinguishable from drunken nonsense.

Vampires can mingle with humans here easily, though the smaller and more familiar crowd makes discreet feeding more difficult than at Club 95. Witches, hunters and vampires may all visit the bar for entirely ordinary reasons, sometimes sharing the same room without humans realizing anything unusual is happening.

John has spent enough years behind the counter to notice recurring patterns: people who never seem to age, strangers asking unusual questions, customers frightened by things they refuse to explain or stories repeated by people who have never met. He does not automatically understand the supernatural truth behind what he hears.

As the night grows later, quieter booths, drunken conversations and trips outside create opportunities for private exchanges, confrontations or someone being followed. Arguments and fights are uncommon enough to attract attention but ordinary enough that supernatural involvement would not be the first explanation.
