The Mall

Rosewick Mall has been one of the town's main social gathering places for years, particularly among teenagers and young adults. After school and on weekends, groups often spend hours wandering between stores, eating at the food court or gathering around the arcade without purchasing much of anything. Employees and security therefore become familiar with regular visitors, while strangers are easier to overlook among the crowds.

The record store and video rental shop reflect Rosewick's changing tastes, while the bookstore occasionally carries older local publications, newspapers and secondhand books mixed among ordinary stock. The photo shop develops film for much of the town, meaning photographs taken throughout Rosewick regularly pass through its employees' hands. Unusual images may occasionally be dismissed as damaged film, poor exposure or camera faults.

The mall becomes considerably different after closing. Metal gates cover the storefronts, music stops and the brightly lit corridors empty. Service hallways, storage rooms, maintenance areas and employee entrances run behind many stores, largely unseen by ordinary visitors during business hours.

With so many people passing through daily, the mall provides an easy place for supernatural residents to observe, follow or approach humans without immediately attracting attention. Vampires can blend naturally into the crowds, witches may visit like anyone else, and hunters can watch someone from a distance without revealing why.
