The Old Mill

The Old Mill has stood abandoned for decades, but its isolation has made it useful to more than curious teenagers. Hunters have occasionally used the building as temporary shelter or a discreet meeting place, while vampires passing through Rosewick have sometimes fed near the river where witnesses are unlikely.

Several disappearances throughout Rosewick's history have occurred somewhere along the surrounding river, though no consistent connection to the mill has ever been proven. Old police reports mention abandoned belongings, unexplained bloodstains and footprints that ended at the water's edge.

Beneath the mill is a partially flooded maintenance chamber accessible through the remains of the machinery. Most locals do not know it exists. Old tools, forgotten belongings or evidence from previous visitors may still remain there.

The mill itself has no fixed supernatural explanation. Strange sounds, lights, blood, missing people or abandoned objects may have mundane or supernatural causes depending on the story. Franz may use the location for investigations, secret meetings, feeding, hiding, discoveries or confrontations without automatically connecting every unusual event to existing supernatural lore.
