Important relics that currently exist in the Murim world and directly influence power, politics, and conflict.


I. HIGH-LEVEL ARTIFACTS (World-Changing)

1. The Heart of Verdant Flow

Type: Qi Core Artifact
Used By: Verdant Crane Sect (locked away)
Origin: Forged by an ancient cultivator who merged his life essence with natural Qi.
Powers:

  • Creates a massive Qi field that boosts Nature’s Flow Technique users.

  • When activated, can stabilize or disrupt surrounding Qi currents for miles.

  • Allows a skilled user to command plant life, even on a large scale.
    Weakness / Risk:

  • Drains the user’s vitality. Long usage leads to permanent life-force loss.
    Conflict Hook:

  • Shadowed Abyss Sect wants to corrupt it, turning nature into a weapon.

  • Rumors say using it under a blood moon awakens a dormant “Forest Guardian.”


2. The Obsidian War Fang

Type: Demonic Weapon
Used By: None currently; sealed under Obsidian Hollow
Origin: Crafted during the first Murim War using fallen wolf-beast essence.
Powers:

  • Grants limitless physical strength, ignoring pain and fatigue.

  • Absorbs the Qi of defeated foes and feeds it to the wielder.

  • In frenzy mode, user enters a semi-bestial state with enhanced instincts.
    Weakness / Risk:

  • Slowly corrupts the wielder’s mind toward bloodlust.

  • Too much absorption causes the weapon to “bite,” draining life-force.
    Conflict Hook:

  • Obsidian Wolf Sect debates unsealing it to match Shadowed Abyss’s rise.

  • White Emerald Cult wants it destroyed, believing it’s cursed beyond repair.


3. The Heavenly Star Mirror

Type: Star Path Artifact
Used By: Iron Raven Sect
Origin: Ancient star-gazing artifact that maps star-path cultivators' power.
Powers:

  • Allows users to project their spirit into star pathways.

  • Can stabilize broken meridians, aiding healing.

  • Reveals hidden star anomalies and incoming threats.
    Weakness / Risk:

  • Overuse burns the user’s soul and can lead to “astral drifting.”
    Conflict Hook:

  • A missing shard of the mirror is rumored to show future calamities.

  • The Iron Raven Sect is desperate to find the missing piece first.


II. MID-LEVEL ARTIFACTS (Sect-Shift Power)

4. The Silent Shadow Cloak

Type: Stealth Suit
Used By: Shadow Fang Clan
Origin: Woven from threads charged with moonlit Qi.
Powers:

  • Erases sound within 5 feet of the user.

  • Allows partial invisibility in dim light.

  • Sunlight burns it; overexposure destroys it.

5. Crimson Barrier Gauntlet

Origin: Crafted from crystallized Qi harvested from the Crimson Marshes.
Powers:

  • Projects unbreakable Qi shields that can protect entire squads.

  • Can absorb incoming Qi attacks and disperse them safely.
    Weakness / Risk:

  • Overload causes a shockwave that can knock out allies.
    Conflict Hook:

  • One gauntlet is missing; believed sold on the black market.

  • Could turn a small sect into a fortress overnight.


6. Moonlit Echo Bell

Type: Tracking / Illusion Artifact
Used By: Often fought over
Origin: Ancient temple bell that stores “echo Qi.”
Powers:

  • Creates illusions of the user up to 50 feet away.

  • Emits a silent pulse that tracks any marked target.

  • When shattered, releases a stun blast.
    Weakness / Risk:

  • Marking a target requires physical contact.
    Conflict Hook:

  • Azure Lotus Sect wants it for infiltration missions.

  • Shadow Fang Clan wants it destroyed to reduce counter-tracking.


III. LOW-LEVEL ARTIFACTS (Rare but Obtainable)

7. Twin Serpent Bracelets

Type: Martial Enhancer
Used By: Jade Serpent Sect
Powers:

  • Gives user whipping-like Qi strikes.
    Weakness:

  • Strains tendons; long use can cause lasting injury.
    Quest Hook:

  • A pair was stolen by local bandits; finding them could earn Jade Serpent favor.


8. Star-Gazing Compass

Used By: Iron Crane Sect
Powers:

  • Points toward Qi-dense locations or star cultivators.

  • Useful for explorations or dungeons.
    Weakness:

  • Fails in demonic Qi areas.
    Quest Hook:

  • A compass went missing near the ruins at Silver Peaks.


9. Nature’s Tear Crystal

Type: Healing Artifact
Used By: Verdant Crane Sect
Powers:

  • Stores natural Qi for emergency healing.

  • Can purify mild demonic corruption.
    Weakness:

  • Can only be recharged at a Qi Conduit.
    Quest Hook:

  • One was gifted to a dying traveler… who vanished.


IV. SECRET ARTIFACTS (Unknown to the World)

10. The Shard Nexus Core

Type: Shard-Tech Artifact
Used By: White Emerald Cult ONLY (hidden)
Origin: Created using the first cultivator to master shard-splitting.
Powers:

  • Enhances the Shard Cultivation Technique dramatically.

  • Allows cultivators to split Qi into more shards than safely possible, giving monstrous precision and power.

  • Can create temporary “shard fields” that disrupt enemy Qi.
    Weakness / Risk:

  • Even White Emerald members fear overusing it.

  • One wrong step leads to instant body collapse.
    Mystery / Quest Hook:

  • Outsiders believe a “death curse” surrounds the White Emerald grounds — unknowingly caused by unstable shard fields.

  • Shadowed Abyss wants this artifact more than anything else.


11. Abyssal Resin Core

Type: Demonic Relic
Used By: Shadowed Abyss Sect (secret)
Origin: Formed when a corrupted star cultivator imploded during a ritual.
Powers:

  • Warps Qi within a large radius.

  • Can be used to create demonic beasts or corrupt natural energy.
    Weakness / Risk:

  • Users risk mutation or corruption.
    Mystery / Quest Hook:

  • Rumor says the Abyss Sect is preparing a “new generation” of cultivators with it.

  • Other sects suspect a coming war because of this artifact.


12. The Whispering Feather

Type: Information / Spy Artifact
Used By: Unknown
Origin: Said to be created by an exiled Shadow Fang Elder.
Powers:

  • Carries spoken messages through wind to a chosen receiver.

  • Can eavesdrop on conversations from far away.
    Weakness:

  • Feather slowly turns black with each use; once fully dark, shatters.
    Mystery Hook:

  • No sect admits to owning it, but it’s in use somewhere.

  • Many fear elite secrets are being leaked.


V. WORLD-RUMORED ARTIFACT (UNCONFIRMED)

13. The Cosmos Furnace

Type: Mythic Artifact
Status: Possibly doesn’t exist.
Legend Says:

  • It can forge new cultivation techniques.

  • It can refine a cultivator’s Qi into a new form.

  • It has the power to “reset” one’s cultivation entirely without harm.
    Conflict Hook:

  • All sects deny searching for it… but every sect secretly is.

  • The first sect to find it could reshape Murim.
