Civilians

Resonance Trait: Dormant; they live beneath the song, not within it.
Common Roles: Laborers, Guildwrights, scribes, soldiers, artisans , they are the endless hands that keep the Veil breathing.
Affiliation: Any and all; their loyalty drifts between the @Sanctum Wardens’ discipline, the @Aether Guilds’ promise of purpose, and simple hunger for survival within the light.

Overview:
@Civilian are the unawakened foundation of @Sanctum Prime , those who live under the Sanctum Veil’s radiance but do not hear its song. They form the social, industrial, and spiritual backbone of the city, sustaining its systems through faithless labor and ritual compliance.

Though seemingly powerless, @Civilian unconsciously feed the Sanctum Veil through their emotions. Joy strengthens it; despair weakens it. Thus, the populace itself functions as a spiritual reactor, making every heartbeat part of the divine machine.

Cultural Role:
Civilians are both victims and beneficiaries of the city’s sanctity. To the @Aether Guilds, they are fuel; to the @Council of Seven, a chorus; to the @Sanctum Wardens, the flock to be shielded. Some choose ignorance; others dream of awakening a dangerous wish in an age when enlightenment can kill.


The Awakened - Resonant Souls

The Awakened are mortals whose souls have aligned to one of the Seven Pillars of Aetherlight, channeling its divine resonance. Each Awakened becomes a living conduit a microcosm of the Last God’s fractured soul.

General Traits:

  • Able to manipulate Aetherlight through will and emotion.

  • Prolonged use burns away fragments of the soul this is known as Soul Decay.

  • Display luminescent eyes, glowing veins, or symbolic marks of their Pillar.

  • Sense their corresponding district’s resonance more keenly.

Factions:

  • Trained by the @Truth Order for regulation and study.

  • Recruited by the @Aether Guilds for energy manipulation.

  • @Sanctum Wardens often contain elite Awakened known as Seraphic Wardens or @Awakened Prime.

@Awakened of Valor - The Defiant

  • Domain: Strength, battle, willpower.

  • Resonance Trait: Converts physical exertion into kinetic bursts.

  • Common Roles: Wardens, defenders, enforcers.

  • Symbol: A broken sword wreathed in flame.

  • Drawback: Overuse causes petrification of muscle fibers.

@Awakened of Mercy - The Redeemer

  • Domain: Healing, empathy, transference of pain.

  • Resonance Trait: Redistributes vitality among allies.

  • Common Roles: Healers, medics, martyr-priests.

  • Symbol: Two hands forming a circle, dripping light.

  • Drawback: Emotional desensitization; empathy burns away.

@Awakened of Truth - The Seer

  • Resonance Trait: Detects falsehoods, reveals illusions, perceives divine presence.

  • Symbol: A mirrored eye.

  • Drawback: Truth Delirium , inability to distinguish reality from vision.

@Awakened of Judgment - The Arbiter

  • Domain: Retribution, balance, divine justice.

@Awakened of Memory - The Chronicler

  • Common Roles: Archivists, necroscribes, oracles.

  • Symbol: Spiral of faces around a dying candle.

  • Drawback: Loss of personal identity over time.

@Awakened of Hope - The Luminar

  • Domain: Inspiration, courage, perseverance.

  • Resonance Trait: Projects auroral light that empowers allies and weakens despair.

  • Common Roles: Leaders, artists, public speakers.

  • Symbol: A fractured sun still rising.

  • Drawback: Accelerated aging and spiritual burnout.

@Awakened of Sacrifice - The Martyr

  • Domain: Blood, death, redemption.

  • Resonance Trait: Transfers life essence between beings or detonates upon death.

  • Common Roles: Veil stabilizers, ritual guards, reactor priests.

  • Symbol: A circle enclosing a single drop of light.

  • Drawback: Gradual fusion with the Veil; loss of individuality.


The @Awakened Prime - Multi Resonant Beings

Associated Pillars: Any combination of two or more
Resonance Trait: Dual or tri-resonance manipulation (hybrid abilities)
Common Roles: Council agents, divine operatives, unstable paragons
Affiliation: Secretly monitored by the Truth Order

Overview:
@Awakened Prime are anomalies mortals capable of holding multiple Pillar frequencies without immediate collapse. They are revered as saints, feared as ticking apocalypses. The @Truth Order classifies them as Resonant Aberrants.

The resonance interference between multiple frequencies produces hybrid manifestations:

Drawback:
Multi-resonance leads to Soul Fracture the splitting of identity, hallucination of alternate selves, and eventual Hollowing or catastrophic implosion. Only a handful survive long enough to master it.

Cultural Role:
To the @Council of Seven, they are assets; to the @Sanctum Wardens, weapons; to the people, miracles. Their existence proves that humanity can still touch the divine and that the price remains unbearable.


The @Herald - The Inverted

Associated Pillar: Inverted aspect of one of the Seven
Resonance Trait: Consumes Aetherlight, spreads divine corruption
Common Roles: Cult leaders, infiltrators, godspawn progenitors
Affiliation: @Heralds of the Divine Hunger

Overview:
Heralds are not born; they are turned. When a mortal’s faith collapses into despair, their resonance inverts. What once harmonized with the Pillars now feeds on them. They become living vessels of hunger, the voices of dead gods.

Each Herald belongs to a Choir, mirroring a Pillar but corrupted into hunger:

Carnage: Madness through battle and bloodlust.
Consumption: Devours life to unify flesh and soul.
Delirium: Infects minds with false visions.
Tyranny: Enslaves through guilt and obedience.
Oblivion: Erases identity and history.
Despair: Spreads hopelessness and mass suicide.
Corruption: Turns martyrdom into contagion.

Abilities:

  • Spread resonance corruption via speech, touch, or song.

  • Manifest divine anomalies (halos of shadow, bleeding light).

  • Immune to exorcism; must be purified through resonance annihilation.

Drawback:
Loss of individuality. @Herald become conduits for divine remnants , their will dissolved into the choir’s harmony.

Cultural Role:
Feared, denied, and hunted. Yet in whispers, some call them truth-tellers, claiming they reveal the hypocrisy of the Veil’s light. They are both prophecy and plague, the inevitable counterpoint to the Awakened.
