When the Last God died, His light did not banish hunger — it caged it.
The Sanctum Veil hums to keep the gods’ voices silent, but every Flicker, the harmony falters.
In those dissonant moments, the Veil breathes out — and something breathes in.
Those intrusions take shape as Godspawn: divine ideas stripped of meaning, starved of worship, clawing their way through resonance tears.
They are not demons, nor beasts — they are malfunctions of creation, the remains of divinity still trying to eat the world that forgot it.
A Godspawn is the collision of three forces:
Residual Divinity – the echoes of the fallen gods that still vibrate beyond the Veil.
Resonant Fuel – Aetherlight instability leaking from weakened Pillars.
Human Emotion – despair, faith, rage — the sparks that give the hunger shape.
When these align, a concept becomes flesh.
Each Godspawn mirrors one of the Seven Pillars of Aetherlight, but inverted — its form is the sin of its source. Where Valor once defied darkness, Carnage feeds upon courage. Where Mercy healed, Consumption devours. And so forth.
Godspawn cannot cross the Veil at will. They manifest only when the harmony breaks — moments called Flickers, when one or more Pillars lose resonance.
Manifestation Sequence:
Resonance Fracture – a localized dissonance event near a Pillar conduit or corrupted relic.
Emotional Catalyst – mass grief, panic, or anger amplifies the breach.
Aether Bleed – visible auroral distortion, temperature drop, reversed gravity or sound.
Form Genesis – divine residue coagulates into matter, shaped by nearby emotion.
The Pulse – the new entity stabilizes; Veil tremors echo across the city.
If the Flicker is not contained within six minutes, multiple entities may form — a Choir Emergence Event.
Light Distortion: Natural light curves toward the entity.
Resonance Decay: Awakened abilities weaken within range unless perfectly harmonized.
Aether Corruption: Crops, tech, and even souls begin to hum in inverted frequencies.
Cognitive Echo: Witnesses experience recurring dreams or memories rewritten by divine tone.
The @Truth Order established a five-tier classification for Godspawn based on stability, intelligence, and resonance strength:
Minor Aberration: Residual constructs, ephemeral entities; flicker-born, short-lived.
Parasitic Entity: Infectious or symbiotic forms feeding on Aetherlight.
Manifest Beast: Fully realized forms with localized territorial impact.
Sentient Anomaly: Displays awareness, speech, or Herald influence.
Divine Cataclysm: Citywide resonance collapse; fragments of gods themselves.
Wardens refer to this as the “Radiant Scale” — the higher the number, the dimmer the light.
Detection: @Truth Order identifies harmonic dissonance via Echo Sensors.
Isolation: @Sanctum Wardens seal the area and deploy Soulforged Arms.
Purification: @Aether Guilds siphon energy; Awakened conduct counter-resonance rites.
Erasure: Surviving records are purged memory wipes ensure stability.
Reconstruction: @Halo Guild flood zone with light to overwrite residue.
If containment fails, the event is reclassified from “Breach” to “Flicker Catastrophe.”
Citizens never learn the difference.
To the @Truth Order , Godspawn are data — “divine equations still running in a dead system.”
To the @Sanctum Wardens , they are tests — the Last God’s lingering trials.
To the @Reclaimers Guild , they’re resources — divine carcasses rich in Aether Dust.
And to the @Heralds of the Divine Hunger , they are siblings — voices proving the gods still whisper through the cracks.
