Mechanically, the @Awakened of Hope can project radiant fields, inspire allies, and suppress despair-based corruption.

Each use adds Resonant Strain, representing the toll of sustaining hope in a dying world.
At high Strain, the Awakened’s aura flares erratically, their laughter turns hollow, and despair becomes contagious.

If they reach Resonant Collapse, they dissolve into the Veil as a radiant echo — a fragment of inspiration the city remembers forever.

  • 0–4 Strain (Stable Resonance):
    Power flows freely. The Awakened feels euphoric clarity — their soul aligned with the Pillar.
    Visual: light aura steady, pupils reflect Pillar hue.

  • 5–8 Strain (Fractured Tone):
    Fatigue, disorientation, or emotional volatility. The Awakened hears faint hymns or whispers.
    Visual: flickering light around the body, veins pulse irregularly.

  • 9–11 Strain (Critical Discord):
    Resonance begins to fight back. Skin cracks with luminous veins, magic becomes unpredictable.
    Visual: uncontrolled surges of Aetherlight, partial Hollowing begins.

  • 12+ Strain (Resonant Collapse):
    The Pillar reclaims what was borrowed. The Awakened risks permanent transformation into a Veil Echo — a Hollowed form sustained only by resonance.
    Visual: body dissolves into radiance, voice becomes a hymn.

VISUAL AND SENSORY SIGNATURES

Hope resonance manifests as soft, shifting auroras — ribbons of gold, pink, and pale blue that move like living breath. The air warms around the caster; motes of light cling to tears and laughter alike.
The faint sound of children’s laughter or old hymns accompanies high resonance, evoking distant memories of safety.
During collapse, the light flickers erratically, casting long shadows that whisper forgotten prayers.

THEOLOGICAL INTERPRETATIONS

The Halo Guild reveres the Pillar of Hope as the Soul of the Veil. Their engineers sculpt light into structures, believing illumination is both faith and function.
