Sanctum Prime
@Sanctum Prime is the final bastion of mortal civilization, encased within the Sanctum Veil a barrier of divine energy born from the sacrifice of the last good god. The city stands as a blend of ancient holy architecture and modern survivalist industry, its skyline pierced by the seven radiant Pillars of Aetherlight that sustain The Sanctum Veil.
The outer districts teem with scavengers, mercenaries, and desperate souls guarding the perimeter against godspawn incursions, while the inner sanctums host cults, scholars, and factions vying to control the weakening pillars.
Sanctum Prime is a layered megacity, both vertical and sprawling a fusion of ancient cathedral ruins and modern survivalist architecture.
It stands where The Last God fell his divine body becoming its foundation.
Sanctum Prime is a mix of different eras and architecture, every district appearance and its culture shaped by the aspect of divinity that still burns there.
At the very center lies The @Cathedral of the Last Dawn built atop the @Sacrifice, The Pillar of Blood , where the god’s essence still bleeds faintly into the world.
The Seven Pillars of Aetherlight
Each pillar is a fragment of divinity generated from the sacrifice of the Last God, resonating with one aspect of the Last God’s essence:
@Valor, The Pillar of Defiance – Strength and defiance. Guards the western gate.
@Mercy, The Pillar of Restoration – Healing and empathy. Its light soothes the sick but draws parasites.
@Truth, The Pillar of Clarity – Knowledge and clarity. A favored target for divine infiltrators.
@Judgment, The Pillar of Wrath – Justice and wrath. Overheats with divine corruption, causing light storms.
@Memory, The Pillar of Echoes – Holds echoes of the world before.
@Hope, The Pillar of Light – The smallest pillar, flickering and weak.
@Sacrifice, The Pillar of Blood – The central pillar, buried beneath the Cathedral of the Last Dawn.
Threats
The outer world is a wasteland of godspawn horrors forged from divine hunger and broken souls. Sometimes, humans betray the city, seduced by the whispers of the false gods promising salvation or dominion. These traitors, called @Heralds of the Divine Hunger , act as infiltrators within @Sanctum Prime, attempting to weaken the pillars from within.
City Structure - The Rings Of Sanctum Prime
Sanctum Prime is divided into three vertical strata, each with distinct purpose and tone:
The Lower Ring - “The Husk”
Where faith rots and humanity claws to live.
@The Lower Ring - The Husk is the city’s underbelly endless labyrinths of decayed ruins, flooded tunnels, and slums built from scavenged divine debris.
This is where the light of the Pillars barely reaches. The air tastes of metal and soot, and whispers of Hollowed wanderers echo in the dark.
Purpose: Industrial production, scavenging, slum housing, crime, black markets.
Residents: The poor, the sick, heretics, and the desperate.
Power Faction: The @Reclaimers Guild scavengers who extract Aether Dust and divine scrap for trade.
Key Locations:
The @Rust Cathedral: A massive factory built from melted temple ruins.
The @Hollow Market: A black market where Aether Dust and godspawn parts are sold.
The Veil Drains: Massive pipes where Sanctum Veil energy leaks downward — inhabited by cults who drink its light.
The Middle Ring - “The Girdle”
The beating heart of survival — part city, part shrine, part machine.
@The Middle Ring - The Girdle houses the majority of @Sanctum Prime’s citizens and industries.
It is where politics, technology, and faith intersect. The glow of the Pillars can be seen from every street, but their warmth never truly reaches the people.
Purpose: Commerce, industry, militia barracks, and administration.
Residents: Craftsmen, soldiers, engineers, middle class, minor Awakened.
Power Faction: @Aether Guilds technocrats who control weapon production and energy distribution.
Key Locations:
@The Iron Basilica: Where the @Sanctum Wardens swear oaths and maintain their soulforged arms.
@Radiant Synod : Headquarters of @Halo Guild
@Heartforge Cathedral : Headquarters of @Ember Guild
@Mirror Crucible : Seat of @Archscholar Rex Pentaghast lead of both @Glass Guild and @Truth Order
@Basilica of Wrath : Headquarters of @Crucible Guild
@Silver Vault : Headquarters of @Archive Guild
The Upper Ring - “The Crown”
A city of saints and sinners who live in the dying god’s shadow.
@The Upper Ring - The Crown floats above the rest — towers, bridges, and hanging platforms connected by radiant lifts.
Here live the ruling elite, the Awakened aristocracy, and the powerful guildmasters who maintain the Veil.
It is said the air itself sings faint hymns here the dying resonance of the god’s last breath.
Purpose: Governance, research, faith preservation, political intrigue.
Residents: Nobility, scholars, high-ranking Awakened, priests of the Veil.
Power Factions: @Council of Seven, composed of representatives aligned with each Pillar. And @Core Guild
Key Locations:
The @Cathedral of the Last Dawn : Built over the @Sacrifice, The Pillar of Blood , the heart of Sanctum Prime.
@The Heart Vault : Hidden beneath the Cathedral’s deepest catacombs lies the Heart Vault — the resting place of the Last God’s fragmented organ, still beating. Its pulse synchronizes with the Veil itself.
