Faction: Kingdom of Edhellen

Kingdom of Edhellen

The nation of Edhellen was created shortly after The Joining when elves arrived to the world in portals from Elfhame. Here, the elves came into contact with the Panna Realm. The nature creatures of Panna offered the elves settlement in the western forests, and wanted good relations with them due to their shared plane of origin. The elves agreed however due to both the elves’ and satyrs’ frictional nature there are often disputes along the border.

Ruled by King Blodren Cano. Edhellen’s banner is a golden tree with arrows coming out from it on a green field. The elves of Edhellen follow the main pantheon of gods, using their elven names.

King Blodren has ruled Edhellen since the start of the Current Era when his father King Palarran Cano left suddenly. He had sensed a great surge of power in the west; the dragons and dragonborn arriving at the surface of the Wieda Expanse. He went to investigate and left his son, Blodren to rule.

Blodren is a proud and arrogant elf and wants to keep his kingdom safe from outside threats. Any outsiders entering Edhellen will find themselves full of arrows before they even see who loosed them. Citizens of Edhellen rarely leave their forest, except to raid or infiltrate the nearby Clandom or Panna Kingdom. It was Blodren who orchestrated the War of Three Sires in 211 CE by sending elves to infiltrate the Clandom and push the families to war. During the conflict, many elven raid parties struck north, even reaching the city of Lepen and sacking it.

The elves here mainly follow Lochor, Naur, Tumulus and Haudh.

There is one large settlement, named Edhellen, in the western forest. All the buildings and defences are crafted out of the trees.

  • The King’s Tree. The largest tree where the city was built around. This tree was seeded by a Pan of great magical power in ancient times and now King Blodren Cano resides here.

  • Pengas Grounds. A place of martial training in the ways of melee and ranged combat. This is where the Helm Guard is based, the elite of Edhellen.

  • Lehesta Hall. A large longhouse which has two uses. One is where many citizens go to drink and recite stories and poems, the other is for war leaders to whip up the troops for an oncoming raid.

  • Nasse Hut. An ancient hut that was here before the elves arrived. It is infused with natural magical energy and is where the shamans of Edhellen practise their magic and enchant items. The High Shaman is named Angol.

Aside from the city of Edhellen, there are various defence and raider camps set up around the borders of the forest.
