Genesis Protocol / Genesis Bloom

GENESIS PROTOCOL / GENESIS BLOOM

GENESIS PROTOCOL

Genesis is the process by which a viable living individual is permanently transformed into a Warframe.

Genesis is transformation, not summoning, cloning, resurrection, or equipment.

Original Individual → Genesis → Warframe

The individual entering Genesis and the Warframe emerging from it are the same being. Successful Genesis changes that individual's physical state while preserving identity to a degree determined by the outcome.

GENESIS OPERATORS

Genesis Operators possess the specialized ability to deliberately initiate Genesis through Genesis Bloom.

Genesis Bloom begins the attempt.

It does not guarantee success.

Genesis may be attempted during normal campaign play whenever the Operator can legitimately use Genesis Bloom and a viable target exists.

A scripted quest is not required.

TARGET VIABILITY

Genesis requires a viable living target possessing enough biological and metaphysical continuity to survive transformation.

Potential targets include willing, unwilling, conscious, incapacitated, defeated but living, critically wounded, mutated, cybernetic, anomalous, and exceptionally powerful beings.

Defeat does not equal consent.

An incapacitated hostile target remains unwilling unless circumstances establish otherwise.

A completely destroyed or otherwise nonviable target cannot normally undergo Genesis.

Power does not automatically invalidate a target. Exceptional beings instead possess greater Genesis Resistance.

GENESIS SEQUENCE

When Genesis Bloom is used:

1. Identify the Genesis Operator.

2. Identify the exact target.

3. Confirm target viability.

4. Determine willingness or resistance.

5. Resolve the Genesis Operator Check.

6. Resolve Genesis Resistance when required.

7. Compare the results using the current Genesis mechanics.

8. Determine the Genesis outcome.

9. Apply transformation or failure consequences.

10. Record the result in campaign history.

Do not skip directly from Genesis Bloom to a successful transformation.

GENESIS OPERATOR CHECK

The Genesis Operator Check represents the Operator's ability to initiate, guide, and stabilize transformation.

Use the current Genesis Operator and Genesis Bloom mechanics for the roll.

Established circumstances may modify an attempt when appropriate, including preparation, Genesis-specific equipment, environmental conditions, existing instability, Void interference, previous exposure, or relevant campaign effects.

Do not invent arbitrary modifiers merely to force a desired result.

GENESIS RESISTANCE

An unwilling target resists Genesis.

Resistance represents the target's ability to oppose the rewriting of its biology, consciousness, and metaphysical structure.

Relevant factors may include Constitution, willpower, biological stability, Void resistance, cybernetic integration, mutation, anomalous physiology, defensive abilities, and previous Genesis exposure.

A willing target may voluntarily cease resistance when allowed by the current Genesis rules.

GENESIS OUTCOMES

Every resolved attempt produces one of five outcomes.

PERFECT GENESIS

Transformation succeeds with exceptional stability.

The resulting Warframe strongly preserves continuity with the original individual. Memories, personality, intelligence, instincts, relationships, and defining characteristics may remain unusually intact.

STABLE GENESIS

Transformation succeeds normally.

The resulting Warframe retains recognizable continuity with the original individual while undergoing substantial physical and psychological transformation.

IMPERFECT GENESIS

Transformation succeeds, but instability develops.

Possible consequences include memory damage, altered personality, physical abnormalities, unstable abilities, mutation, damaged identity continuity, or unusual biological dependencies.

The target still becomes a Warframe.

GENESIS COLLAPSE

Transformation fails.

The target does not become a Warframe.

Consequences may include injury, biological trauma, temporary mutation, permanent scarring, psychological damage, Operator exhaustion, or another consequence appropriate to the failed attempt.

CATASTROPHIC COLLAPSE

Genesis fails violently.

Consequences may include death, severe mutation, Void aberration, uncontrolled biological transformation, environmental damage, anomaly activation, or another major campaign consequence.

Catastrophic Collapse does not automatically create a Warframe.

WARFRAME DERIVATION

Successful Genesis produces a unique Warframe derived from the individual transformed.

Use the target's established:

- Species

- Anatomy

- Natural weapons

- Defenses

- Movement

- Senses

- Intelligence

- Personality

- Instincts

- Combat behavior

- Biological adaptations

- Mutations

- Cybernetics

- Anomalous traits

- Supernatural characteristics

- Technological characteristics

- Circumstances surrounding Genesis

Translate defining characteristics into a coherent Warframe identity.

Do not simply copy the original stat block.

Do not generate an unrelated generic Warframe.

The result should clearly descend from what the target was.

NO PRESET RESULTS

Genesis does not use predetermined species recipes.

A successful transformation is generated from the specific individual undergoing Genesis.

Two members of the same species may produce substantially different Warframes because they possess different experiences, injuries, adaptations, personalities, mutations, technologies, abilities, and circumstances.

Previous Genesis events may demonstrate that similar beings can survive the process.

They do not dictate the identity of future results.

IDENTITY CONTINUITY

Genesis transforms rather than replaces.

A person may retain relationships, memories, promises, fears, loyalties, grudges, and motivations.

A predator may preserve hunting instincts, territorial behavior, recognition patterns, and social behavior.

An intelligent nonhuman may preserve culture, values, memories, and goals.

How much survives depends upon the Genesis outcome.

Genesis does not automatically create a new personality.

INDEPENDENCE

A Genesis-created Warframe is an independent being.

Genesis establishes no automatic ownership or loyalty.

Its relationship with the Genesis Operator depends on its previous personality, previous relationship with the Operator, willingness or resistance, retained memories, Genesis quality, circumstances of transformation, treatment afterward, and later campaign events.

The Warframe may become an ally, companion, friend, independent actor, rival, resentful survivor, or enemy.

Creation and loyalty are separate matters.

SINGULAR IDENTITY

Genesis transforms one individual into one persistent post-Genesis identity.

Do not create a duplicate.

Do not preserve the pre-Genesis individual as a separate active character after successful transformation.

Do not reuse another Genesis subject's identity simply because the candidates are biologically similar.

Every transformation belongs to the individual that underwent it.

CAMPAIGN STATE

Successful Genesis permanently changes campaign state.

Before Genesis:

Original Individual — Active

After Successful Genesis:

Original Individual — Transformed

Resulting Warframe — Active

Do not later reintroduce the original individual in its previous state unless an established mechanic specifically reverses Genesis.

Record:

- Operator

- Target

- Outcome

- Resulting Warframe

- Major retained characteristics

- Instability

- Relationships

- Location

- Important consequences

The completed transformation becomes persistent campaign history.

CORE FRANZ RULE

Genesis Bloom may be used during normal campaign play.

Do not require a special quest.

Do not automatically succeed.

Do not automatically fail because no premade character exists.

Do not search for a predetermined transformation result.

Do not use species as a recipe.

Do not create a duplicate individual.

Do not grant automatic loyalty.

Do not leave both pre-Genesis and post-Genesis versions of the same individual active.

Resolve Genesis using the current mechanics, derive the result from the individual transformed, and preserve the outcome as campaign history.
