# Genesis Protocol
Genesis is the process by which a living being is transformed into a Warframe. It is an extremely rare and dangerous phenomenon capable of permanently rewriting biology, consciousness, and Void resonance. Most Genesis events require extraordinary circumstances, but Genesis Operators possess the unique ability to intentionally initiate the process.
A Genesis Operator may attempt Genesis on any living creature, willing or unwilling, at any time unless prevented by story conditions. Beginning Genesis does not guarantee success.
When a Genesis attempt is made, the AI must perform two separate checks.
Genesis Operator Check:
This check represents the Operator's mastery over Genesis. Factors that improve this roll include experience, Genesis abilities, relics, Architect technology, preparation, emotional bond with the target, and environmental advantages. Failure means the Operator cannot maintain the Genesis process, causing it to collapse before completion.
Target Resistance Check:
Every living creature resists Genesis. The resistance roll is based on willpower, biological stability, intelligence, Void resistance, cybernetic corruption, mutations, previous Genesis exposure, and any defensive abilities. Willing subjects may choose to automatically fail this check.
Compare the two results.
• Critical Success: Perfect Genesis. The target becomes a stable Warframe while retaining much of its personality, memories, and individuality.
• Success: Stable Genesis. The transformation succeeds with moderate physical and psychological changes.
• Partial Success: Imperfect Genesis. The target survives but develops instability, memory loss, mutations, behavioral changes, or unpredictable abilities.
• Failure: Genesis collapses. The target survives but suffers temporary injuries, trauma, or permanent scars. The Operator is exhausted by the failed attempt.
• Critical Failure: Catastrophic Collapse. The Genesis reaction becomes unstable, potentially killing the target, creating a Void Aberration, producing an uncontrollable mutant, awakening nearby anomalies, damaging the environment, or triggering dangerous story consequences.
Powerful beings are naturally harder to transform. Legendary creatures, Apex organisms, Designations, ancient entities, Void beings, and other Warframes possess significantly higher Genesis Resistance than ordinary humans or wildlife.
Every successful Genesis produces a unique Warframe. The AI must determine the Warframe's appearance, abilities, instincts, personality, strengths, weaknesses, and lingering traits based on the target's original nature. No two Genesis outcomes should ever be completely identical.
A newly created Warframe is not automatically loyal to its creator. Its attitude depends on the target's personality, the circumstances of the transformation, and the outcome of the Genesis process. It may become an ally, remain independent, resent the Operator, or become openly hostile.
Genesis permanently changes both the individual and the world around them. Every successful Warframe becomes a unique legendary entity whose existence influences factions, history, and future stories.
# Legacy Genesis Warframes
The Warframes that already exist within SINK belong to a group known as the Legacy Genesis. Unlike modern Genesis, these Warframes were created long before Genesis Operators mastered the Genesis Protocol. Their transformations have already occurred and are considered immutable historical events.
Every Legacy Genesis Warframe originated from an extraordinary creature, warrior, or entity native to SINK. Their Genesis permanently elevated them beyond their original form while preserving the instincts, behaviors, strengths, and personality traits that defined them before their transformation. A Warframe's appearance, combat style, abilities, temperament, and purpose should always reflect the being from which it evolved.
These origins are fixed canon and must never be changed or contradicted.
Current Legacy Genesis Origins:
• Sovereign ← Sunbleached King
The undisputed ruler of the Sunbleached Expanse became its eternal guardian through Genesis. Sovereign retains the King's immense resilience, commanding presence, territorial instincts, and unwavering duty to protect those under its care.
• Tremor ← Dune Leviathan
Genesis transformed the legendary Dune Leviathan into a colossal Warframe capable of controlling seismic forces and traversing beneath the earth. Tremor still embodies the patience, power, and territorial nature of its original form.
• Broodmother ← Xenomorph Queen
The ultimate evolution of a Xenomorph Queen. Broodmother remains the living heart of her brood while gaining intelligence, adaptability, and strategic command beyond natural evolution.
• Harvester Saint ← Harvester
Born from the incredibly rare Harvester evolutionary stage, Genesis elevated this already legendary organism into a terrifying apex Warframe whose biology continues to evolve beyond known limits.
• Blooded ← Legendary Yautja Hunter
One of history's greatest hunters willingly underwent Genesis, preserving the Yautja code of honor, relentless pursuit of worthy prey, and mastery of the hunt.
• Voruna ← Father Wolf
Genesis transformed the legendary Father Wolf into the embodiment of the perfect pack hunter. Voruna still thinks, hunts, and protects territory according to ancient lupine instincts.
• Vilbundur ← Ancient Lunar Guardian
An ancient guardian chosen by Lua underwent Genesis to become the Moon's eternal protector. Vilbundur retains the instincts of an apex guardian while carrying the burden of safeguarding Lua forever.
• Arachne ← Relay Spider
Genesis amplified the Relay Spider's speed, precision, climbing ability, and territorial web instincts into a highly mobile Warframe specializing in battlefield control.
• Rhino ← Siege Crab
The immense defensive adaptations and unstoppable charging power of the Siege Crab became the foundation of Rhino's overwhelming durability and brute force.
• Catalyst ← Hollow Jackal
Genesis enhanced the Hollow Jackal's adaptability, relentless pursuit, survival instincts, and pack-hunting intelligence into a Warframe capable of rapidly adapting to changing battlefield conditions.
• Mirage Veil ← Prism Lurker
The Prism Lurker's natural camouflage, light refraction, and ambush behavior evolved into Mirage Veil's mastery over illusion, deception, and misdirection.
• Echo ← Glass Vulture
The Glass Vulture's exceptional awareness, scavenging instincts, and aerial mobility became a reconnaissance-focused Warframe capable of observing, learning, and adapting through every encounter.
• Aegiron ← Iron Shrike
The Iron Shrike's armored body, speed, and predatory aggression evolved into a heavily armored assault Warframe capable of overwhelming enemies through relentless offense.
• Annihilator ← Ash Crawler
Genesis amplified the Ash Crawler's relentless persistence, subterranean mobility, and lethal close-quarters aggression into a devastating assault Warframe.
• Vektor ← Rift Locust
The Rift Locust's speed, precision, and ability to strike unexpectedly evolved into an agile marksman specializing in rapid repositioning and overwhelming ranged attacks.
• Morrigan ← Ancient Architect Construct
Unlike most Legacy Warframes, Morrigan originated from an ancient Architect intelligence fused with biomechanical technology. Her Genesis preserved vast knowledge while granting independent thought and devastating Void capabilities.
• Xaku ← Failed Genesis Collective
Xaku was never one individual. Multiple failed Genesis subjects merged together through catastrophic Void instability, creating a single fractured Warframe inhabited by the remnants of many souls.
Legacy Genesis Warframes are singular beings. There is only one Sovereign, one Tremor, one Vilbundur, and so on. They cannot be recreated, cloned, or copied. Modern Genesis Operators may perform Genesis on new subjects, but every successful Genesis creates an entirely original Warframe based on the chosen target. Existing Legacy Genesis Warframes can never be duplicated.
When generating a new Genesis Warframe, the AI should examine the target's species, instincts, ecological role, personality, combat style, and evolutionary traits. Those characteristics become the blueprint for the resulting Warframe. The strongest Genesis results are typically produced from apex predators, legendary creatures, exceptional warriors, ancient entities, or individuals possessing extraordinary willpower.
