OVERVIEW

Beyond New Echelon's defensive walls stretches the untamed frontier of Earth. Much of the planet bears the scars of the Corporate Resource Wars, abandoned megacities, failed industrial projects, and unexplained Void events. While civilization survives, it does so in isolated pockets separated by dangerous wilderness and forgotten ruins.

This frontier is rich with resources, lost technology, and opportunity—but every expedition risks encountering hostile wildlife, rogue machines, raiders, or anomalies beyond human understanding.

THE SUNBLEACHED EXPANSE

The Sunbleached Expanse is the largest known desert surrounding New Echelon. Once fertile land, centuries of warfare and environmental collapse transformed it into an endless sea of sand, broken highways, rocky canyons, and the skeletal remains of forgotten cities.

Nomad convoys cross these wastes searching for salvage while hunters pursue dangerous apex creatures that roam the dunes.

Major Points of Interest

• Iron Veil Convoy Route — Primary trade road maintained by the Iron Veil Nomads.

• Caravan Haven — A fortified rest stop where merchants, explorers, and mercenaries gather.

• Glass Canyon — Wind-carved cliffs filled with crystalline mineral deposits.

• Leviathan Graveyard — Massive fossil fields where ancient desert beasts once died.

• Solar Relay Station 14 — An abandoned communications outpost still broadcasting mysterious signals.

FRONTIER SETTLEMENTS

Scattered across the frontier are small independent settlements founded by miners, scavengers, hunters, and researchers.

Most survive through trade with New Echelon or by servicing travelers crossing dangerous territory.

These communities often maintain strong local identities and defend themselves without outside assistance.

Common Features

• Salvage markets

• Repair garages

• Landing pads

• Water purification systems

• Local militia headquarters

ANCIENT RUINS

Earth's wilderness hides countless ruins from civilizations both human and unknown.

Entire cities remain buried beneath shifting sands.

Military bunkers still hold forgotten weapon stockpiles.

Architect structures occasionally emerge from beneath the earth, drawing scientists, treasure hunters, and cultists alike.

Few expeditions return with complete records.

THE WILDERNESS

Unlike the relative safety of New Echelon, the frontier belongs to nature and whatever survived humanity's collapse.

Known dangers include:

• Apex predators

• Rogue automated war machines

• Raider gangs

• Environmental hazards

• Void anomalies

• Unstable ruins

Every journey requires preparation, experienced guides, and contingency plans.

REPUTATION

To citizens of New Echelon, the frontier represents both freedom and fear.

It is where fortunes are made, legends are born, and countless people disappear without a trace.

Beyond the walls, humanity no longer controls the world—it merely survives within it.
