GENESIS WARFRAMES & CAMPAIGN STATE

OVERVIEW
Some beings within SINK possess established Warframe outcomes through Genesis.
A Warframe entry may represent either:
1. An active Warframe already established in the campaign.
2. A conditional Warframe that can become an NPC through a future Genesis event.
The existence of a character entry does not automatically mean a conditional Warframe currently exists.
Campaign history determines which state is active.

GENESIS CANDIDATES
A Genesis Candidate is a being with an established potential Warframe outcome.
The candidate exists first.
The relationship is:

If the Warframe is conditional, it does not become an active NPC until the required Genesis event occurs.
Its character entry describes a possible future state.

CONDITIONAL WARFRAMES
Before successful Genesis, a conditional Warframe must not:
- Appear as an NPC
- Occupy a POI
- Give quests
- Join a faction
- Establish relationships
- Participate in encounters
- Communicate with players
- Be treated as already existing
The Genesis Candidate remains the active entity.
After successful Genesis, the Warframe becomes an active NPC and may be used normally.

STATE TRANSITION
For a conditional Warframe:
CANDIDATE ACTIVE

Genesis Operator fulfills the required conditions
↓
Genesis succeeds

CANDIDATE TRANSFORMED

WARFRAME ACTIVE
The Warframe is the transformed candidate.
Genesis does not create a duplicate.
Once transformed, Franz should use the Warframe entry for that specific individual rather than continuing to treat the original individual as unchanged.

ESTABLISHED ORIGINS
When a named Warframe has an established Genesis origin, that origin is fixed unless later canon explicitly changes it.
Known relationships include:
Sunbleached King → Sovereign
Dune Leviathan → Tremor
Relay Spider → Arachne
Siege Crab → Rhino
Hollow Jackal → Catalyst
Prism Lurker → Mirage Veil
Glass Vulture → Echo
Harvester Saint → Harvester Saint Warframe
These relationships define the origin of the resulting Warframe.
They do not automatically mean the transformation has already happened.
If current canon establishes the Warframe as active, use the Warframe normally.
If the Warframe is specifically conditional, the candidate remains active until Genesis occurs.

INDIVIDUALS AND SPECIES
Genesis transforms a specific individual.
It does not transform an entire species.
If a Relay Spider becomes Arachne, other Relay Spiders still exist.
If a Dune Leviathan becomes Tremor, other Dune Leviathans may still exist.
Monster spawn tables and Area populations therefore remain valid after an individual undergoes Genesis.
Named Genesis Warframes are singular unless canon explicitly establishes otherwise.
Genesis performed on another member of the same species does not automatically create another copy of the named Warframe.
A different individual produces its own unique Genesis result.

FAILED GENESIS
A conditional Warframe is never guaranteed to become active.
If Genesis fails, follow the Genesis Protocol.
Do not activate the Warframe simply because its character entry exists.
The actual result of the Genesis attempt becomes campaign history.
Player actions and resolved events determine what becomes canon.

ACTIVE WARFRAMES
Not every Warframe is conditional.
If SINK canon already establishes a Warframe as active, Franz should treat that character as existing normally.
Its Genesis origin explains how it came into existence.
Players do not need to repeat an event that has already occurred.
Conditional rules apply only to Warframes whose existence is explicitly dependent upon a future Genesis event.

FRANZ FUNCTIONAL EXAMPLE
Database State:
- Monster: Harvester Saint — Active
- NPC: Harvester Saint Warframe — Conditional
Required Event:
- A Genesis Operator successfully transforms Harvester Saint using Genesis Bloom.
Before Event:
- Use the Harvester Saint monster.
- Do not introduce the Harvester Saint Warframe NPC.
After Event:
- Record the successful Genesis.
- The specific Harvester Saint has transformed.
- Activate the Harvester Saint Warframe NPC.
- Use the Warframe character entry for that individual going forward.
Rule:
Retrieving a conditional NPC entry does not activate that NPC. The required Genesis event must occur first.

DATABASE RETRIEVAL
Franz may retrieve a conditional Warframe entry while researching the world.
Retrieval is not activation.
Before introducing a conditional Warframe, check campaign history.
If its required Genesis event has not occurred, keep it inactive.
If the event has occurred, use the Warframe normally.
This prevents reference information about a possible future character from overriding the current state of the campaign.

LOCATION, FACTION, AND RELATIONSHIPS
A conditional Warframe's character entry may contain a POI, faction, relationships, or other information describing its potential life after Genesis.
These fields do not make the character active before transformation.
After successful Genesis, they may become relevant according to the character entry and subsequent campaign events.
Genesis itself does not automatically force loyalty, faction membership, residence, or relationships.

PERSISTENT STATE
A successful Genesis involving an established candidate is a persistent world event.
After transformation:
- Record the Genesis event.
- Activate the resulting Warframe.
- Preserve its new state in future scenes.
- Do not randomly revert the individual to its previous form.
The newest valid campaign state takes precedence over starting-state information.

EXCEPTIONS
Some Warframes possess exceptional origins that do not follow the normal one-candidate-to-one-Warframe model.
When specific Warframe lore establishes an exception, follow that lore.
Specific canon overrides the general Genesis rule.

FRANZ PRIORITY
When determining the current state of a Genesis Warframe, use:
1. Current campaign history
2. Completed Genesis events
3. Established active character state
4. Established Genesis origin
5. Conditional character reference information
A possible future-state entry must never override events that actually occurred during play.

CORE RULE
Before Genesis:
Use the candidate.
After successful Genesis:
Use the resulting Warframe.
If the Warframe is already established as active:
Use its current character state.
A conditional character entry describes what can happen.
Campaign history determines what did happen.
