RESTRICTED ZONES
Classification:
High-Security Regions
Access:
Restricted by Military, Scientific, or Government Authority
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
OVERVIEW
Not every place on Earth can safely be explored.
Some regions are sealed because they contain unstable technology. Others hide biological outbreaks, rogue artificial intelligences, Void phenomena, or discoveries capable of threatening civilization itself.
These locations are collectively known as Restricted Zones.
Each zone possesses its own security protocols, threat classifications, and containment procedures. Unauthorized entry is considered both a criminal offense and a potentially fatal decision.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
THE AUTOMATED EXCLUSION ZONE
Operator:
Helix Directive
Threat Level:
Extreme
Originally established as a massive research and manufacturing complex, the Automated Exclusion Zone became isolated after autonomous defense systems continued operating beyond their intended directives.
Entire sectors are patrolled by unmanned drones, combat automatons, and self-repairing security networks that recognize nearly every organic lifeform as an intruder.
Few expeditions penetrate far into the facility.
Even fewer return.

• Automated Assembly Complex
• Drone Foundries
• Containment Barrier Alpha
• Observation Tower Seven

NULL GROWTH SECTOR
Operator:
Joint Military Quarantine
Threat Level:
Catastrophic
The Null Growth Sector marks the site of one of humanity's earliest large-scale encounters with uncontrolled Void contamination.
Vegetation mutates.
Buildings slowly deform.
Electronics malfunction without warning.
Entire landscapes appear to shift between observations.
Despite decades of study, researchers cannot explain why the corruption continues expanding at an almost imperceptible rate.
Major Points of Interest

• Environmental Monitoring Array
• The Silent Forest
• Collapse Crater
• Research Station Delta

THE OBSIDIAN CRUCIBLE
Operator:
Null Sector and the Cathedral
Threat Level:
Maximum
The Obsidian Crucible is humanity's most secure blacksite research installation.
Officially, it does not exist.
Within its underground laboratories, scientists study Architect relics, Void artifacts, anomalous organisms, impossible materials, and technologies considered too dangerous for public knowledge.
Every experiment conducted here has the potential to change civilization—or end it.

GENERAL SECURITY PROTOCOLS
Although every Restricted Zone differs, several universal regulations apply.
• Unauthorized access is prohibited.
• Military checkpoints surround all entrances.
• Automated surveillance operates continuously.
• Research teams require multiple clearance levels.
• Containment breaches authorize immediate lockdown.
• Evacuation orders override civilian authority.
Failure to comply with security personnel often results in detention or removal from the area.

WHY THEY EXIST
Restricted Zones are not maintained to keep secrets from humanity.
They exist because civilization has repeatedly learned that some discoveries cannot safely exist without strict containment.
Every sealed laboratory...
Every quarantine wall...
Every security checkpoint...
Exists because someone ignored that lesson before.

KNOWN OPERATORS
Organizations frequently assigned to Restricted Zones include:
• Helix Directive
• Vanguard Accord
• N.E.P.D. Special Response Division
• O.M.E.N.
• Genesis Order (authorized projects only)

REPUTATION
Among explorers, Restricted Zones are synonymous with lost fortunes and impossible discoveries.
Among soldiers, they are assignments few volunteer for.
Among scientists, they represent the boundary between knowledge and catastrophe.
Every Restricted Zone holds answers.
The challenge is surviving long enough to bring them home.
