## Overview
The Stray Xenomorph is an exceptionally rare mutant lineage of the Xenomorph species. Unlike the overwhelming majority of their kind, Strays are born with defective pheromone receptors and an incomplete neurological connection to the hive consciousness. While they remain biologically Xenomorph, they are incapable of fully synchronizing with a Queen or responding to the instinctive commands that unite a hive.
Most colonies identify these mutations shortly after birth. A Stray is often abandoned, hunted, or killed by its own hive before reaching adulthood. Those that escape are forced into solitary lives where survival depends entirely upon their own intelligence rather than the collective will of the hive.

Strays possess the same biomechanical physiology as ordinary Xenomorphs, including exceptional strength, speed, stealth, accelerated healing, acidic blood, and remarkable adaptability. Their senses remain among the most advanced of any known species, allowing them to hunt efficiently in darkness, detect vibrations, and track prey across great distances.
The mutation affects only the neural systems responsible for hive synchronization. As a result, Strays retain every instinct of the perfect organism while developing independent cognition, self-awareness, long-term memory, and emotional complexity.

Without the guidance of a Queen, Strays develop unique personalities shaped by experience rather than instinct alone. Some embrace lives as mercenaries, bounty hunters, explorers, scavengers, or pirates. Others isolate themselves from civilization, becoming apex predators that stalk forgotten worlds and abandoned stations.

Queens instinctively recognize Strays as defective organisms.
