Alendria's Government under Hesan Occupation

Following the conquest of Alendria, the Hesan Empire installed a provisional regime to oversee the region’s transition from sovereign kingdom to imperial province. At its head sits @Magistrate Jarl Gerverg, appointed regent by decree of @Emperor Isen IV. From @Sphaira Palace, Jarl governs not through brute force, but through cultural absorption—allowing Alendrian festivals, rituals, and civic traditions to continue, while subtly weaving Hesan symbols, language, and doctrine into their fabric. His approach is one of slow conquest: a reshaping of identity rather than a suppression of it. His daughter, @Hilda Gerverg, serves as his personal page and quiet confidante, often seen at his side during public ceremonies.

The military arm of the occupation is commanded by @Marshal Vexhelm Draunt, a high-ranking officer of the Hesan War Covenant. Known as The Iron Cantor for his clipped, rhythmic style of issuing orders, Draunt embodies the Covenant’s doctrine of precision, fear, and unyielding control. He views Alendrian customs as liabilities—softness to be hardened, beauty to be disciplined. Under his command, patrols scour the countryside and city streets, enforcing curfews, monitoring dissent, and securing strategic sites such as the @Marble Quarry in the @Mount Pindaron Region. Patrols led by many infantry, but some names include @Sigmund Kruger, @Wulfram Drexler, and @Brannulf Gerstmann ensure compliance and quell unrest.

Among Draunt’s subordinates is @Aeson Virelios, once a decorated officer under House Landon, now reduced to a ceremonial role as commander of the “Protective Guard.” His loyalty is questioned by both sides, and his presence serves more as a symbol of submission than strength. Meanwhile, @Irmelin Eckehard, an arcane scholar and censor, oversees Hesa's interests in the @Ancient Library, redacting texts deemed subversive or destabilizing. @Volkhard Strenge, warden of @Sphaira Prison, manages not only common criminals but political prisoners, spies, and suspected dissidents.

The occupation’s reach extends into the mountains, where @Sir Meinfried Reuch leads a specialized unit tasked with maintaining uninterrupted marble extraction from the @Marble Quarry—a site both economically vital and spiritually charged. .

The fall of House Landon was swift and brutal. King Theodore the Dreamer and his kin were executed in @Konigsheim, the Hesan capital. Yet one figure remains unaccounted for: @Princess Elara of Alendria, heir to the throne, who vanished before the purge. Imperial Chancellor @Valerius Caelum has issued standing orders to Magistrate Jarl Gerverg—should Elara return, she is to be found and brought to justice. Her absence haunts the regime like a prophecy unfulfilled.

Though Alendria is militarily secured, its people remain restless. Philosophers spar with Hesan officials in the streets, songs of older gods echo when soldiers turn their backs, and refugees abroad weave resistance through the Harmonic Thread. The empire holds Alendria’s stones, but its spirit resists, whispering of a civilization that refuses to be silenced.

Melianthos

Melianthos a town in @Northern Alendria, with it's Hesan War Covenant Headquarters acts as a sub-regional government there. Hesan Knights run operations on behalf of @Marshal Vexhelm Draunt and @Magistrate Jarl Gerverg.

Melianthos, however, is pressed from every quarter. To the north, the Kingdom of Thelidor has raised a fortress in answer to Hesa’s presence, warry what the taking of Alendria means for them. The road between the two realms is watched by both sides, each wary of the other’s movement. To the east, the Tiefling villagers descend from the foothills from @Qeren, striking not in ordered ranks but in sudden blows, vanishing into stone and shadow, leaving unease in their wake. Within the city itself, the occupation grinds upon the people: Hesan soldiers enforce their will, while whispers of Alendria’s Harmonic Thread move unseen, sowing doubt and defiance. Even within the War Covenant there is no unity, for the houses of Hesa carry their rivalries into the frontier, and the cracks of lineage threaten to widen amidst the strain of war. To the south, smugglers and fugitives slip through hidden paths, carrying secrets and lives beyond the empire’s grasp. Thus Melianthos endures, hemmed in by fortress, mountain, occupation, rivalry, and shadowed road, a crucible where every pressure carves its mark upon the town’s fate.
