Epistle to the founders of Halion Kathedron

Grace and illumination be upon you, kindled ones of the Bound Flame.

I write not with authority, but with longing—for though I have walked the ash roads and sung beneath the silver chains, I remain ever a seeker of Halion’s fire.

You are asked, “Who is Halion, and why do we bear his name?” I tell you: he is the flame that does not consume, the burden that does not break. He is the silence between verses, the thread that binds the forgotten to the divine.

In the days of the old kings, they sought gods in thunder and conquest. But Halion walked alone, and the stars wept for him. He bore no crown, yet lit the caves of the enslaved. He sang not for glory, but for the child who had no name.

Therefore, beloved, do not seek temples of gold or laws etched in stone. Light your candles in the hollow places. Speak verses to the wind. Bind your hearts with silver thread, and remember: the flame is not loud, but it is eternal.

May your burdens be bound with grace, and your silence be heard by the stars.

—In quiet fire,
Seran, the smallest of Halion's servants
