Caelthorn
Backstory: Caelthorn’s lineage traces back to Thelidor’s founding. They see themselves as stewards of tradition and defenders of the realm. Their ancestral seat, Caelthorn Castle, stands strong near the southeastern mountains and is famed for its austere beauty and impenetrable walls.
Political Position: Isolationist and defensive. Arthur Caelthorn believes Thelidor must first secure its borders before meddling in court politics. His withdrawal from the capital is both a strategic retreat and a silent protest.
Halebrandt
Backstory: Halebrandt rose to prominence during the War of the Broken Crown, when their ancestors led a cavalry charge that saved the capital. Their seat, Lionspire, is a fortress of banners, stables, and roaring hearths.
Political Position: Pro-monarchy but believes Liam must be molded into a warrior-king. Godric wants to train Liam personally, but Caelthorn and Durnmere oppose this.
Durnmere
Backstory: Durnmere’s rise is recent, but their wealth is vast. Their seat, Durnmere Castle, is more palace than fortress, filled with foreign luxuries and secret passageways.
Political Position: Expansionist and pragmatic. Bastian wants Liam to marry into Durnmere to secure legitimacy. Eveline works behind the scenes to orchestrate this.
