Vault of Ginomai (Protected by Chloe Iphimedeia)

Beneath the library lies the Vault of Ginomai, a sealed archive containing the most ancient and delicate texts in Alendria. Access is granted only to the head curator, Chloe Iphimedeia, whose lineage traces back to the first archivists of the realm. It is said that within the Vault lie the original verses of Eremos' Song, etched on star-metal and bound in silence.

Chloe's Confrontation with the Hesans

Shortly after the invasion, Chloe intercepted a Hesan attempt to open the Vault of Ginomai. She saw a Hesan of some repute enter the library. He held a sphere stone in his hand. She overheard a story that he received the sphere stone after doing a deal with a Goblin King. The Hesan attempted to locate the entrance to the Vault of Ginomai and she confronted him. He and the soldiers who flanked him started to harass her to open the Vault. She lied and said nobody has known how to open it for centuries. She continued her lie and said its been a matter of important research in the library: study is the only way to figure it out. This has bought her some time with the Hesans. But it wont last forever.

The Secrets of the Vault of Ginomai known only to Chloe Iphimedeia

In Alendrian lore, the Ananke Atraktos is said to be the final creation of Damocles, the last philosopher-king of the Eremic age, who sought to bind fate not through prophecy, but through design. Inspired by the celestial harmonies sung by unicorn maidens and the Song of Spheres, Damocles forged a mechanism—a gargantuan stone spindle with nested spheres—that could “tune” the world’s unfolding. The Ananke Atraktos could grant new life by reweaving a soul’s thread into the world’s tapestry. But it could also unweave. Destroy utterly. Not through fire or blade, but by erasing a thing’s place in the pattern.

This makes it a god weapon not in the sense of divine wrath, but divine editing. It can rewrite fate. Quietly. Permanently.

But the Ananke Atraktos was never finished.

Structure & Function

The construct resembles a massive vertical spindle, with concentric stone rings that rotate at different speeds. Each ring is etched with glyphs. Roughly 5 pieces of the construction are missing. Some matching the sphere stones scattered across Alendria, others lost to time. When activated, the rings hum in harmonic resonance, echoing the Song of Spheres.

Activation

If the sphere stones are placed back in the construct, it may activate it. Or backfire. It has never been completed or tested.

Deactivation

Once activated, the Ananke Atraktos may be deactivate if it is destroyed by force, but who knows what the aftermath will look like. It is also said that Damocles designed it to be deactivated by a kore monokeros, or female descendent of a Unicorn Maiden, as a measure of protection. House Landon was said to be of this bloodline.

Political Implications

The Hesans may not understand its full function—but they know enough to fear it. Some may want to use it to resurrect ancient Hesan lineages, or erase inconvenient histories. Others may see it as a deterrent, a mythic bargaining chip. Chloe Iphimedeia is its quiet steward, tasked with ensuring it is never activated.
