Tacet Field

Tacet Fields are a form of Waveworn Phenomenon, and are widely believed to be where all Tacet Discords originate. Reverberations fill the air in these locations, linking the world to an unknown space through a white Resonance Cord.

Overview

Tacet Fields are easily identifiable locations, featuring a sky of inverted seas and a deep cross-shaped Tacet Mark on the ground.

The convergence of the Etheric Sea results in the formation of new Tacet Fields, which initially go through a Dormant period, during which the area is relatively safe. A faster formation generally results in a longer Dormant period, as well as stronger Tacet Discords. [1]

Research

A former researcher from Huaxu Academy and childhood friend of Xiangli Yao, Pascar identified the special frequency of the Tacet Field, and developed a prototype detector that can predict where they are forming. After Pascar and the prototype were devoured by Waveworn, his notes were recovered and the theory restored, named the 'Pascar Spectrum' theory. While the prototype has yet to be successfully recreated, the theory has gained global recognition as well as attracted the attention of the Black Shores. [2]

As part of their efforts in researching an ancient civilization, a group of scientists exiled from the Court of Savantae performed an experiment into creating an Artificial Controllable Tacet Field. [3]

Trivia

While Tacet Fields kill the plants in their environment, they are also a source of unique plants and minerals, such as Floramber that forms from the remains of the dead plants, and Erodorchids that grow on the edges of Tacet Fields.
