Trade, Salary, Fines

Every station employee is required to carry their ID card at all times. It serves as proof of identity, grants access to authorized work areas, and is used to receive wages and other authorized payments.

An additional, though non-mandatory, device commonly carried by crew members is the Personal Data Assistant (PDA). Because long-range wireless communications perform poorly within artificial gravity fields—due to bluespace-related spatial distortions that significantly degrade signal quality—PDAs remain the standard personal communication device aboard most stations.

These compact, legacy tablet-like devices provide a variety of essential functions, including environmental monitoring, ID authentication, secure storage of account credentials, atmospheric readouts, station alert status, messaging services, and numerous other utility applications.

The payroll system operates automatically, calculating and distributing wages based on hours worked. Depending on the policies of the payroll administration, an employee's work account may be suspended, frozen, or subject to payment delays. Payroll may also be affected by station regulations, disciplinary actions, or standard operational procedures.

Hourly wages may be increased or reduced by 25% or 50% at the discretion of an employee's direct supervisor or the station official responsible for payroll administration, typically a Department Head, the Head of Personnel, the Captain, or Central Command.
