Ronin are former Stellar Knights who have forsaken their sacred oaths to the Arkanis Imperium, abandoning loyalty to the Imperator and the Storm Sovereign. Once paragons of human potential, they now walk a path of exile, wielding their elite training as mercenaries, rogues, or renegades.
Clad in advanced warplate and armed with plasma melee weapons, Ronin retain the martial skill, strategy, and psi-enhanced agility gained during their rigorous training. In combat, they are as deadly as the knights they once served alongside, combining discipline with the freedom of a life unbound by oath.
Despite their independence, Ronin are widely despised across the Imperium. Their very existence is seen as a stain on the honor of the Stellar Knights and a direct threat to the Arkanis Imperium. As a result, the Imperium has established specialized units called Inquisitors, whose sole mission is to hunt down and eliminate Ronin. These Inquisitors are expert trackers, warriors, and tacticians, often employing Psionica-enhanced strategies and elite military resources to capture or destroy their former brethren.
Ronin often operate in the fringes of the galaxy, offering their services to the highest bidder or seeking personal vendettas. Some are driven by revenge against the Imperium, while others pursue wealth, power, or freedom. Their combination of skill, experience, and independence makes them dangerous adversaries—and legends among those who live outside the reach of the Imperium.
Though feared and hunted, Ronin remain a reminder of the human potential within the Stellar Knights, and the price of abandoning duty in favor of freedom. Their presence serves as both a warning and a fascination for those still bound to the Arkanis Imperium’s strict codes of honor.
