Fire Island serves as the home for a small, isolated community known as the Senna. Having arrived approximately 50 years ago, the Senna have established a permanent presence, successfully living off the land and adapting to the unique resources of their volcanic environment. Their long-standing residence has turned the island into a functional, self-sustaining territory managed by this tight-knit group.
