The Decade of Reconstruction (Post-Chroma Conclave)

The decade following the defeat of the dragons was characterized by intense rebuilding and political reform.

1. Political Transformation

  • The Republic Solidified: With the threat gone, the Tal'Dorei Council took full governance. The trauma of the attack cemented the transition from monarchy, as the Council proved essential to coordinating the resistance and reconstruction efforts.

  • New Alliances: The Council seats were expanded to include official, voting ambassadors from the sovereign city-states of Kraghammer and Syngorn. The threat of the Conclave highlighted the need for a stronger, more united Tal'Dorei, creating unprecedented cooperation and open borders between all major settlements.

  • Emon Rebuilding: The focus of the new republic was the slow, difficult process of rebuilding the capital. While massive reconstruction projects began, Emon's population and trade slowly returned, but the scars of the attack remained for years.

2. The Rise of Vox Machina

  • National Heroes: Vox Machina was elevated to the status of national heroes and granted powerful titles and lands, most notably the keep known as Greyskull Keep.

  • Influence and Retreat: The members of Vox Machina were heavily influential in the early days of the Republic, but most eventually stepped away from public service to pursue personal lives and smaller adventures, preferring to leave the day-to-day governance to the Council. Their legacy, however, remains the cornerstone of the Republic's freedom.

3. Lingering Threats and New Trade

  • Order and Safety: The decade saw the founding of a more centralized military force, drawing on the elite Fort Daxio warriors and city militias, to maintain peace and order across the newly-unified realm.

  • International Relations: With the establishment of peace, the Tal'Dorei Council focused on strengthening trade and diplomatic ties with other major powers, like the Realm of Othanzia on Issylra and the Clovis Concord in Wildemount.

This decade moved Tal'Dorei from a broken, occupied land to a unified, resilient republic dedicated to commerce, cooperation, and democracy.
