Generations of life in low gravity have altered the appearance and physiology of many @Belters.
They are often taller and more slender than planetary humans, with elongated limbs, narrow shoulders, and reduced bone density. Their movements may appear slow and deliberate under gravity but become precise and graceful in weightlessness.
The degree of adaptation varies. Belters raised on larger rotating stations may resemble @Terran Humans or @Martian Humans, while those born in very low gravity can develop bodies poorly suited to planetary environments.
Medical treatments, genetic therapies, specialized exercise, and skeletal reinforcement can reduce these effects, but such care is expensive and not universally available.
Some Belters can tolerate The gravity of @Mars with preparation. @Terra’s stronger gravity may cause severe pain, circulatory stress, joint damage, or respiratory failure. For the most heavily adapted Belters, standing on Terra without extensive treatment is physically impossible.
This limitation carries political significance. Terrans and Martians can travel throughout much of the solar system. Many Belters cannot safely visit the worlds whose governments determine their future.
