Leviathans-The Apex Entities of the Deep

Leviathans are not “monsters.”
They are forces of nature, ancient, semi-mythic, and tied to the magic of the sea.

The Three Known Leviathan Types

1. The Tidefather

Size: City-scale
Behavior: Migrates seasonally, causing massive tides
Magic: Warps water pressure and currents
Signs:

  • Sudden silence

  • Blue String Child sightings

  • Stormglass shattering

Folklore:
“Where the Tidefather swims, the sea remembers.”

2. The Maw Serpent

Size: Miles long
Behavior: Sleeps in trenches, awakens rarely
Magic: Emits fear-inducing pulses
Signs:

  • Compass failure

  • Deep rumbling

  • Fish fleeing en masse

Folklore:
“Never stare into the dark water. Something stares back.”

3. The Shatterback

Size: Mountain-sized
Behavior: Breaks islands when surfacing
Magic: Crystal resonance storms
Signs:

  • Humming wind

  • Crystal growth on beaches

  • Sudden fog

Folklore:
“Shatterback rises only when the world needs reminding.”
