The Free Artisans of the Ley Lines (The Independent Crafters)

This faction represents independent mages, crafters, and researchers who operate independently.

• Goals: Free and open access to magical knowledge, independent trade of magical goods and artifacts, and the exploration of new or lost magical techniques (often deemed "unorthodox" by the Conclave).

• Ideology: Liberty and innovation. They often see the Conclave as overly restrictive, but are not at all hostile with them.

• Relationship with the Academy: Often seen as a good connection for those looking for more commercial jobs. Many gifted graduates who dislike the political constraints of the Conclave join the Artisans, especially those specializing in Enchantment and Transmutation. They frequently pay students for minor field research.

• Key Asset: The Ley Line Runners, independent mages with unmatched skill in Conjuration and Divination, who use the Ley Lines as hidden magical highways for swift transport and communication.
