The Conclave of Arcanists

The Conclave is the official magical government, the most powerful and influential faction, and the ultimate arbiter of arcane law.

Goals: Maintain global magical stability, enforce the laws for magical safety, and prevent another Great Sundering. They operate as the main government and police for magic use, having many branches with different focuses.
Ideology: Pragmatic order. Magic must be regulated, cataloged, and regulated, to protect from ill-use.
Relationship with the Academy: They are the ultimate governing board. Academy professors are often Conclave agents, and the Headmaster is a high-ranking member. They view the Academy as their primary talent pool and research arm.
The Special Unit: The Crimson Judicators
- Focus: A highly trained, secretive enforcement division. They specialize in hunting rogue mages, suppressing magical outbreaks, and secretly investigating ill-uses of magic.
- Magic Focus: Primarily masters of Abjuration (for shields and counter-spells) and Evocation (for focused, devastating force). They carry enchanted items that help protect them.
