The Cult of the Void-Born

The Cult of the Void-Born (The Doomsday Zealots)

An extremely small faction (at least at the beginning of the story), made of those who seek the secrets to Thanaturgy. Their existence is unknown to everyone but themselves.

• Goals: Reawaken the latent Void-Mana left by the Great Sundering, break the ancient seals (like the one under the Academy), and usher in a new age of corrupted, life-force-based power, ruling over the world.

• Ideology: Power through sacrifice. They believe that the control of Evita​ is the true destiny of magic users and that the Conclave is keeping mankind weak and scared.

• Relationship with the Academy: Secretive. They view the Academy as the perfect opportunity to plant seeds of their mission. They attempt to infiltrate the student body or target vulnerable students/professors to plant seeds of doubt in the current system that may be used to convince people when they are finally revealed.

• Magic Focus: Discovery and use of Thanaturgy. They are usually masters of various schools, having become advanced mages before discovering the truth of Thanaturgy. They often use enchantment or illusion implements mask their corrupting physical appearance and magical sites.
