Belldeep is a region of the world but is merely just a small, well developed part of it.
Human habitation of Belldeep has existed for roughly 8,400 years, with most people migrating from the far east to settle here. Most history of the early years wasn't recorded outside of myths, legends, and religious teachings. The most oldest myth of Belldeep's early history is the myth of Thazarn, a titan who made the most wonderful music in all of creation from a massive cast iron bell, drawing in the humans from the east with its beauty. The myth goes that Thazarn was slain by a great sea serpent called Akatin, for his music had angered the serpent's deep sleep beneath the ocean, and he was dragged under the ocean. When Akatin attacked, Thazarn had thrown up his great bell into the air and it crashed onto the ground upside down, with the bell's waist, bead line, sound bow, and lip forming the mountains, its interior flooding with sea water and forming the Altiatear Sea, and its clapper forming the island Vurndraak.
