Great Zarith, also called the Imperium of Great Zarith, the Zarithian Empire, or the Empire of Zarith, is massive land empire from the eastern reaches of the continent that is currently extending its territory over Belldeep. Unlike the Belldeep nations, Great Zarith was one of the first nations of the world to industrialize and has used this opportunity to become the single largest empire in all the world's history. It was the first human nation to kill a Great Being, the storm titan Trezdor, and has since gone on to conquer much more of the world beyond the Belldeep Coast. It is a predominately a land and air empire, with vast armies of soldiers, constructs, steel tanks, airships, fighter aircraft, and even an allied fire dragon named Zommadoth. It's culture is extremely religious and expansionist, with practically everyone worshiping, following, and serving of their leader, whom they simply called "The Emperor." Who the Emperor is not yet known, but theories in Belldeep have arose. Some suspect that this religious devotion is similar to the devotion that Thuletorian's have for the Imperial Family of their own empire. Others suspect the Zarithian Emperor to be a Celestial, or Great Being of the Old World, that has integrated itself into a human society and now rules them as a god. More absurd rumors of the Emperor being a hivemind-like intelligence that lives in all Zarithians have also been proposed, as its possible the "Emperor" Zarithians refer to is more a state of being than an actual individual. This is compounded by the fact that ideas of transcendence for both individuals and whole groups are keystones in this "religion." Great Zarith holds a number of vassel states and protectorates to the east of Belldeep, such as the Eclor Conferation, the Drapal Empire, and the United Naplon States. Currently, Great Zarith has established a small city on the Othucan Ridge called Bonnhal, with industrial factories being set up and tanks having been spotted. It appears Great Zarith is going to take advantage of the current Othucan civil war to its advantage, although how remains to be seen.
