Legendary Longsword (Requires Attunement)
Forged during the age of the First Dawnbreak and hidden for centuries behind the protection of the Ironheart Core, Faith was never created to conquer kingdoms. It was forged to stand against impossible darkness when all other lights had failed.
Its silver-white blade never tarnishes. In darkness, faint golden runes appear along the fuller, each representing a vow sworn by the crusader who concealed it from the world.

While wielding Faith:
Attack rolls of 18, 19, and 20 are treated as Critical Hits.
Once per day, when Faith scores a Critical Hit, the wielder may choose to expend all 4 charges and invoke the sword's greatest miracle.
Upon doing so, cast:
(8th-Level Spell)
centered upon the struck target.
After the spell resolves, roll a d20.
Faith's light endures.
The sword functions normally and may regain charges after future Long Rests.
Faith's miracle burns itself away.
The sword permanently loses its ability to regenerate charges.
Any charges remaining at that moment remain within the blade and may still be used normally.
Once those charges are spent, they are gone forever.
Faith retains all other properties:
+2 Weapon Bonus
2d6 Slashing Damage
1d6 Radiant Damage
Darkvision 120 ft
Truesight 120 ft
Beacon of Faith
Unwavering Conviction
Only the miracle fades.
The final entry within the hidden journal of the First Dawnbreak crusader reads:
"A sword is steel. Faith is a choice."
"If the day comes when this light must be spent, spend it gladly."
"For a light preserved forever saves no one."
This version keeps the sacrifice meaningful. The wielder is gambling the sword's divine reserve for a single potentially campaign-defining miracle, but Faith itself remains a legendary relic even if that final spark is spent.
