@ForgehandGuild

Overview

The @ForgehandGuild is the largest and oldest smithing organization in @DaggerfallCity, predating the founding of the @BastionCouncil itself. Its furnaces burn day and night, supplying the city’s armies, the @DawnbreakPact’s crusades, and the frontier’s trade. Where @Grusk’sGuildAndForge values freedom and personal craft, the Forgehand prizes hierarchy, precision, and profit. Every nail, hinge, or sword stamped with their insignia carries a reputation for endurance—and an unspoken tax.

Structure and Leadership

The guild is led by a Tri-Anvil Council of three Masters:

  • Master Korrin Veldt, Chief of Metallurgy and Trade, oversees ore shipments and deals with the @BastionCouncil.

  • Master Thera Cowl, Chief of Designs, manages blueprints and experimentation, occasionally clashing with @FinrowTinkfoot over stolen ideas.

  • Master Orik Harth, Chief of Arms, commands the forges that supply the @DawnbreakPact.

Below them are hundreds of registered apprentices, contracted journeymen, and bonded laborers. Each forgehand is ranked by productivity and purity of metal, not seniority.

Facilities

  • The Great Foundry: A massive complex in the industrial quarter of @DaggerfallCity. Its smoke pillars are visible for miles and serve as a weather gauge to local farmers.

  • The Refinery: Processes rare metals and radiant ores imported from @DawnbreakBastion supply lines.

  • The Hammer Vault: A subterranean archive of schematics, weapon molds, and forgotten blueprints—locked behind a system of rune-sealed doors maintained by the @ArcaneRegistry.

Relations

  • Allies: The @BastionCouncil relies heavily on Forgehand contracts for defense infrastructure. The @DawnbreakPact honors them as sacred artisans.

  • Tensions: Relations with @Grusk’sGuildAndForge are complicated; grudging respect mixes with rivalry. @GruskIronveil once trained under Master Orik before walking away to found his own forge. The @VerdantBloom view the Forgehand’s environmental disregard as barbaric.

  • Neutral: The @CrowbellMessengers maintain delivery routes between the Foundry and the frontier, but neither side fully trusts the other’s silence.

Philosophy

The guild’s creed is “Metal remembers its maker.” They believe craftsmanship reflects the moral state of its creator—impurity in the heart leads to weakness in the blade. Apprentices meditate beside molten pools before forging, reciting oaths to focus mind and hand.

Reputation

To the common folk, the ForgehandGuild represents stability and quality. To rivals, it symbolizes greed and rigidity. Their craftsmanship is unmatched, yet their bureaucratic pricing and quotas have turned many free smiths—like @GruskIronveil—against them. Their seal, a hammer over a sunburst, remains stamped on half the weapons in the frontier.

Role in the Frontier

While @Grusk’sGuildAndForge fights to keep the frontier armed and alive, the ForgehandGuild ensures @DaggerfallCity remains wealthy and defensible. Their engineers survey ruins, reclaim radiant ore from @LeylineFractures, and experiment with alchemical tempering. They claim to forge the future of civilization itself—one blade at a time.
