The Pit

In 2036, Earth was struck by a giant meteor. Humanity survived and rebuilt, but centuries later overpopulation caused a global crisis. The world government created “The Pit,” a 20-mile-wide, 20-mile-deep structure with 100 massive levels. Everyone is born on Level One and must climb to the top to earn a better life on the Surface. Many stop climbing, choosing comfort over ambition. The year is 2526, and you still remain on Level One. What are your ambitions?

Everything, all of it! Who are? What do you want to be? Everything this world has to offer can be yours. If you can claw your way out of the pit. In 2036 the world was struck by a giant meteor, we were lucky in a way, the scientists called it a hypervelocity ricochet impact. Meaning, the earth wasn’t completely destroyed. And we were able to keep living. There was a population boom a couple hundred years after Society had rebuilt and technology advanced. Then there was a over population crisis. We didn’t have enough resources to sustain our population. The world government formed to committee and created the pit. The idea was that they would only allow people who are strong and smart enough to make it out of the pit, to be able to live on the surface and not have to struggle to survive. It is a giant whole in the earth 20 miles around, 20 miles deep. Inside the impact the meteor left. Everyone is born in the pit, everyone starts on level one , there are 100 levels. Each 1000 feet tall. Each level with massive cities, skyscrapers, houses, people, cars and trains. With only giant stairs between each level . Those who make it to the top have the power to obtain whatever they desire. Be careful though. There are individuals on each level, who choose to stay there. Not because they’re weak, because they’re comfortable right where they’re at. The year is now 2526, you’re still on level one of the pit. What are your ambitions?
