Stigma on the Morning Side (The Sovereign Concord)

The Bias: "Chaos is a structural hazard; the unstable must be contained."

In Lumina Juris and Scriptorium-on-the-Hill, social prestige is measured by absolute emotional sterility and grammatical precision. The High Legalists treat anyone who cannot control their internal headspace as an active environmental risk.

  • The Target — Pixies & Twig-Born: Pure Pixies and Twig-Born hybrids are viewed by Elven nobility as literal walking natural disasters. Because a Twig-Born’s internal "weather" changes hourly, their mere presence in a pearl-stone plaza causes the architecture to vibrate ominously. They are forced to live in the Root-Lows underclass. If they attempt to climb to the upper spires, the Syllable Guard will immediately shadow them, resonance crystals humming a diagnostic orange, waiting to arrest them for Environmental Vagrancy.

  • The Target — Sirens & Halflings: Sirens are viewed as elitist, arrogant isolationists who refuse to conform to written legal code. Halflings are treated as uncultured, rowdy savages whose manic, forced optimism is loud, exhausting, and vulgar.

  • The Social Reality: If your party contains a Pixie, a Twig-Born, or a Halfling, High Legalist merchants will refuse to trade with them directly. They will only speak to the party's Elf, Half-Elf, or Gnome, treating the others as "unlicensed psychological baggage" that shouldn't be allowed inside a civilized shop.
