THE GLYPH-LORDS THE LEXICOGRAPHERS
(High Elven Aristocracy) (Gnomish Scribes & Engineers)
- Rule via complex social etiquette - Track the continent's "Source Code"
- Mask emotions to protect buildings - Bound reality using sacred runes
  • The Philosophy: To this culture, chaos is a literal structural hazard. Because an outburst of rage can collapse a pearl-stone tower and a broken promise can fracture a mountain, they treat language and emotion with terrifying, sterile precision.

  • Social Traditions:

    • The Mask of Composure: In public, showing extreme grief, anger, or loud joy is considered a vulgar, criminal act called Environmental Vagrancy. High legalists speak exclusively in hushed, musical whispers or utilize magical calligraphy written into the air to strip out messy mortal vocal tones.

    • The War of Etiquette: They do not fight with swords; they fight with semantics. An elven noble will gladly invite an enemy to a luxurious dinner, but the invitation will be laced with hyper-complex, multi-layered legal clauses designed to trick the guest into surrendering a title or a memory over the salad course.

  • The Hubris: They believe they are the only ones keeping the continent from dissolving into the void. They treat other cultures as uncultured savages who are single-handedly threatening the world's structural code.
