RMS Olympic – Deck Reference Layout

Upper Decks

Boat Deck (Top Deck)
This is the highest open deck. It contains the ship’s command areas and exposed promenade space.

Key Locations:

  • The Bridge

  • Officers’ Quarters

  • Marconi Room (Wireless Room)

  • Captain’s Day Room

  • Funnel Base Area (Midships)

  • Forecast Deck (Bow)

  • Poop Deck (Stern)

  • Crow’s Nest (accessible via ladder from Forecast Deck)

Notes:
This deck is mostly exposed. The Bridge, Marconi Room, and Captain’s Day Room are restricted areas.


A Deck
The main first-class social and promenade deck.

Key Locations:

  • Verandah Café

  • À la Carte Restaurant (upper section)

  • First Class Library Lounge

  • Card Room

  • First Class Reception Room (Night Cap Lounge)

  • Palm Court

  • Regency Gentlemen’s Salon (First Class Barber Shop)

  • First Class Smoking Room

  • First Class Corridor

  • Grand Staircase (Upper Landing)

Notes:
The Grand Staircase is a tall, multi-level feature that continues downward through B, C, and D Decks.


Mid Decks

B Deck
Primarily first-class cabins with some public rooms.

Key Locations:

  • First Class Corridor

  • First Class Cabins (including the Abandoned First-Class Cabin – Cultist Lair)

  • À la Carte Restaurant (lower section)

  • Grand Staircase (Middle Section)


C Deck
Mix of first and second-class areas.

Key Locations:

  • First Class Corridor

  • Second Class Corridor

  • Second Class Lounge

  • Third Class Smoke Room

  • Grand Staircase (Lower Section)


D Deck
Transition deck between passenger and service areas.

Key Locations:

  • Grand Staircase (Lower Landing)

  • Maids & Valets’ Saloon

  • Steward’s Pantry

  • First Class Corridor (lower section)

  • Elevators (Main elevator bank)

Notes:
The Grand Staircase effectively ends its walkable path around this deck.


Lower Decks

E Deck
Crew and service deck with some passenger facilities.

Key Locations:

  • Crew Quarters

  • Laundry Room

  • Ship’s Hospital

  • Electric Bath Room

  • Turkish Baths Cooling Room

  • Third Class Corridor (upper section)


F Deck
Contains both leisure facilities and crew areas.

Key Locations:

  • First Class Swimming Pool

  • Squash & Fencing Court

  • Gymnasium

  • Third Class Kitchen

  • Crew Mess Hall

  • Third Class Corridor

  • Grand Staircase (lowest visual section)


G Deck
Lower passenger and crew deck.

Key Locations:

  • Third Class Corridor

  • Third Class Dining Room

  • Crew Quarters (lower section)


Orlop Deck

This is the lowest major deck before the engine spaces. Primarily used for cargo and storage.

Key Locations:

  • Cargo Hold

  • Mail Room

  • Refrigerated Cargo Room

  • Armory (Secure Storage Compartment)

  • Carpenter’s Shop

  • Third Class Elevator Shaft (ends here)


Tank Top Deck (Engine & Boiler Level)

This is the lowest level of the ship. It contains the main machinery spaces. These rooms are multi-level and extend upward significantly.

Key Locations:

  • Boiler Room 5 (Multi-level – spans upward through F Deck)

  • Engine Room (Multi-level – spans upward through F Deck)

  • Boiler Room (Main boiler spaces – multi-level)

  • Coal Bunker

Notes:
These three major rooms (Boiler Room 5, Engine Room, and main Boiler Room) are very tall. They can primarily be accessed from the Tank Top Deck, though limited access may exist via service hatches on higher decks.

Key Vertical Connections

  • Grand Staircase: The main way to travel between A, B, C, and D Decks.

  • Elevators: Primarily serve first-class areas (A–D Decks). One third-class elevator exists and goes down to the Orlop Deck.

  • Service Stairs / Crew Corridors: Connect E, F, and G Decks.

  • Boiler Room 5, Engine Room & Main Boiler Room: These tall rooms connect the Tank Top Deck upward to F Deck.

  • Third Class Elevator Shaft: One of the few ways to reach the Orlop Deck from above. Underneath is a hatch that leads to @The Void Beneath
