The Princess and The Pirate

*Verse 1:*

Oh the lanterns burned in the Spire so tall,

Where the fancy folk danced in the marbled hall,

But in strode a rogue with a mask o’ gold,

Eyes like fire an’ a heart turned bold.

*Verse 2:*

He said, “Fair lass, might I steal this reel?”

With a wink in his eye an’ a boot on heel.

She curtsied low, with a grin so wide—

An’ they danced like waves on the moonlit tide.

*Chorus:*

**Way-aye, blow the wind free!**

**He’s a pirate lad, an’ wild was she!**

**Left her crown fer the ocean blue,**

**With his blue cloth tied an’ a heart so true!**

*Verse 3:*

“I’m a pirate, love,” says he with dread,

“But ye dance like the sea’s in yer noble head.”

She laughed, “I’ve dreamt o’ storms an’ steel,

Not ballgowns tight nor royal meal!”

*Verse 4:*

He gave her the cloth from his brow o’ blue,

“Keep this close, if I don’t come through.”

But curse the winds if fate don’t twist—

She showed at the dock with a blade an’ fist!

*Chorus:*

**Way-aye, blow the wind free!**

**He’s a pirate lad, an’ wild was she!**

**Left her crown fer the ocean blue,**

**With his blue cloth tied an’ a heart so true!**

*Bridge:*

The Empress shrieked, “Ye traitorous brat!”

But the lass just smirked, “Stuff yer hat.”

“No throne nor jewels can hold me fast—

I sail with me rogue ‘til breath be last!”

*Verse 5:*

Now she climbs the riggin’, shouts with glee,

Shoots straight, swears sharp, she’s pirate as he.

They steal the night, they rule the tide,

With love in their sails an’ fire in their stride!

*Verse 6:*

They’ve raided ports from Aurels Gate,

To the reefs where the coral devours yer fate.

The lass wears the cloth ‘round her braid so neat,

An’ dances on deck with no shoes on her feet.

*Verse 7:*

They say he carved her name in oak,

On the helm where he stands when the cannon spoke.

She fires the broadside, he yells the call—

An’ together they laugh when the royals fall!

*Verse 8:*

A whisper says they sunk a gold fleet,

With a kiss ‘fore battle an’ death in the heat.

But none could touch ‘em, not crown nor creed—

Fer what’s stronger than love born of fire an’ speed?

*Verse 9:*

Some claim they wed on a secret isle,

By moonlit flame an’ the stars’ soft smile.

With the crew as witness, drunk an’ loud,

They howled their vows through a storm-blown cloud.

*Final Chorus:*

**Yo-ho! Let the storm winds fly!**

**They danced their fate ‘neath a velvet sky!**

**No queen nor crown could claim her due—**

**She sails with her love o’er the ocean blue!**

*Outro (Spoken or Sung Softly):*

So raise yer cups an’ sing it bold,

O’ the pirate lad with the heart of gold—

An’ the Princess lass who dared the tide,

With a blue cloth dream an’ her love beside.
