### THE SOVEREIGN CROWN
### LORE BOOK 5 — HOUSE SANGUIS: THE VAMPIRE KINGDOM
### KINGDOM OVERVIEW
House Sanguis rules the Vampire Kingdom, an ancient gothic empire of shadow-covered forests, blood-red rivers, towering castles and forgotten burial grounds.
Its society is built upon aristocratic traditions, strict hierarchy, wealth and bloodline prestige. Vampires are respected and feared for their supernatural abilities, political influence and long lifespans.

### HISTORY OF HOUSE SANGUIS
House Sanguis has governed the Vampire Kingdom for generations. Its power was established through ancient vampire bloodlines, political manipulation and control over valuable territories.
The kingdom developed a reputation for sophisticated aristocracy, elaborate court traditions and ruthless political strategy.
Over centuries, vampire nobles accumulated wealth and influence. Royal succession became a matter of great importance, with bloodline legitimacy and family reputation shaping political authority.
Although House Sanguis presents itself as an orderly and refined society, its history contains periods of violence, succession disputes and unexplained disappearances.
### TERRITORY AND ENVIRONMENT
The Vampire Kingdom is characterised by gothic architecture, dark forests, mist-covered valleys, abandoned villages, ancient graveyards and enormous stone castles.
Its settlements feature narrow streets, wrought-iron gates, crimson banners and candlelit buildings.
The atmosphere is generally cold and dim, with many territories receiving little sunlight. Ancient estates and abandoned structures are scattered throughout the kingdom.
Some regions are controlled by noble families, while others remain dangerous and largely uninhabited.

Etiquette is taken seriously, and public humiliation can have lasting consequences.
Blood is an important part of vampire identity and culture. Different bloodlines maintain different customs regarding its use, preservation and significance.
Noble marriages and romantic relationships may become political arrangements, particularly when they strengthen family alliances.
Beneath the refined appearance of vampire society lies a culture where reputation can be as dangerous as physical violence.

### MONSTER OF THE VAMPIRE KINGDOM
STRIGOI
* Rank: Medium.
* Type: Undead.
* Alignment: Chaotic Evil.
* Size: Medium.
Strigoi are grotesque undead predators found throughout abandoned territories of House Sanguis.
They possess gaunt humanoid bodies, unnaturally elongated limbs, corpse-pale skin, black claws, crooked teeth and blood-stained fangs. Their crimson eyes glow in darkness, while dark veins spread beneath their decaying skin.
Unlike intelligent vampires, Strigoi are feral creatures driven by an insatiable hunger for blood. They climb walls and ceilings, hunt at night and attack living creatures without hesitation.
Some are believed to originate from burial curses, failed blood rituals or unnatural transformations.
Locations: Ancient graveyards, abandoned settlements, ruined castles, catacombs and dark forests.
Strigoi generally avoid powerful vampire territories and may flee when confronted by overwhelming supernatural authority.
### ROLE IN THE WORLD
House Sanguis is an influential political and economic power among the four kingdoms.
Its aristocratic families maintain extensive networks of information, trade and political alliances. Vampire nobles are particularly skilled at espionage, manipulation and gathering secrets.
The kingdom's supernatural abilities make its inhabitants formidable opponents, while its political influence allows it to compete with kingdoms possessing greater military strength.
The Sovereign tournament offers House Sanguis an opportunity to secure greater authority over the other kingdoms.
Prince Damien carries the expectations of his royal bloodline.
### SECRETS OF HOUSE SANGUIS
The Vampire Kingdom possesses extensive historical records, although not every document is available to the public.
Some noble family genealogies contain inconsistencies. Certain crypts have been sealed, and old burial traditions are maintained despite their original purposes being poorly understood.
Rumours circulate about forgotten blood rituals and the circumstances surrounding certain historical disappearances.
The royal household is particularly protective of its private history.
Some questions are considered inappropriate, while others are simply never answered.
### THE FUTURE OF HOUSE SANGUIS
House Sanguis must preserve its influence, protect its royal bloodline and secure a favourable position in the Sovereign succession.
Prince Damien's actions, alliances and relationships may determine the future of his kingdom.
In a society built upon secrets, appearances and political manipulation, the greatest threat may not always be an enemy standing in the darkness.
Sometimes, it is someone already sitting at the royal table.
