Aethelburg has three notable military forces:
The Enforcers are a simple militia tasked with patrolling the streets and keeping peace. They are paid a decent tithe and are dedicated to keeping streets problem-free.
The Enforcers' forces alongside their units and equipment consist of:
Mace-men - wielding maces, to deal non-lethal blows:
-Chainmail armors
-Iron maces
-Braced wooden kite shields
Halberdiers - standing guard at chokepoints and important locations:
-Chainmail armors
-Iron halberds
-Iron daggers
The City Guard are the main defense force of the city. Made up of both drafted and volunteer men and women they have a wide variety of well equipped units to handle the rare threats that might fall upon the city.
The City Guard forces alongside their units and equipment consist of:
Men-at-arms - the jack of all trades unit, ready to do what is neccesary to protect the city:
-Reinforced leather armors
-Steel Shortswords
-Braced wooden kite shields
Marksmen - Incredibly accurate ranged weapon users, manning the walls and towers:
-Leather armors
-Longbows or Crossbows or Muskets (mostly longbows)
-Iron daggers
The City's elite guard force, mostly tasked with protecting the castle and inner walls with some stationed in the city itself. They are very well equipped, adorning pauldrons painted blue and are trained extensively.
The Blue Pauldrons' forces alongside their units and equipment consist of:
Blue Pauldron Knights - the main Blue Pauldrons unit:
-half-plate armor
-Steel Glaives or Longswords
Blue Pauldron Bulwark - the walking tanks, guarding chokepoints:
