Lundenwic

Role in the World

@Lundenwic is the economic heart of southern @Britain and the greatest source of tension between @Saxon and @Dane. Whoever controls it controls trade, wealth, and influence far beyond their borders. No other city shapes the future as much while feeling so close to collapse. @Daneland holds the city. Saxon presence exists by tolerance.


Authority and Law

The @Danelaw Hosts enforce order through assemblies, oaths, and visible strength. Saxon laws are selectively honored, but mostly denied. The Faith operates under restriction, not agreement.

Law here is pragmatic. Justice is swift. Mercy is rare.


Faith and Paganism

The @Faith of the One God exists in Lundenwic but is diminished. Churches are guarded, sermons are cautious, and conversion is slow. Pagan worship is open and proud, making Saxons who are trying to convert Danes uncomfortable and causing tension.

No belief here is pure. All are compromised.


Magic and Fear

Magic is not hunted, but it is feared. Seers, charm sellers, and spirit workers operate quietly, often protected by wealth or threat. True practitioners do not linger in public.
