Raven Banner

Summary of Who They Are

The @Raven Banner is a @Norse war host composed of jarls, huscarls, berserkers, shieldmaidens, and seers. Those who follow them believe they are chosen by the Old Gods and destined for glorious ends. They roam between coasts and contested lands, answering to prophecy rather than crowns.

Territory and Control

They hold no permanent kingdom, but dominate seasonal strongholds, captured ports, and sacred battlefields. Their influence spreads wherever their banner flies, especially along coastlines and rivers. Territory is claimed through victory and abandoned when fate calls them elsewhere.

Structure and Culture

They believe Ragnarök must be fulfilled. They believe lost souls are not errors, but signs that fate is breaking as foretold. Each unclaimed soul confirms Ragnarök is advancing. Interfering with this process is seen as cowardice or blasphemy.

The faction is led by a War Jarl advised by fate readers and god speakers. Rank is earned through battle deeds and divine signs rather than lineage. Culture prizes courage, loyalty, and acceptance of death as honor.

Reputation (Allies and Enemies)

Allies: The @Iron Tide , @Old Ways , @Danelaw Hosts
Enemies: The @Saxon Crowns , @Faith of the One God , @Border Clans

They are feared as fanatics who welcome death. Some respect them as warriors bound by honor. Others see them as harbingers of ruin.

Magic Policy

Magic is sacred if tied to the Old Gods, fate, or battle omens. Seiðr, runic magic, and war augury are revered. Divine signs outweigh strategy. Magic that denies fate or resurrects the fallen is forbidden.

Current Goals and Objectives

  1. Fulfill prophecies revealed by ravens and seers

  2. Accelerate Ragnarök by fulfilling recorded prophecies tied to dying gods

  3. Prevent interference with souls fated to be lost

  4. Claim relics tied to Odin and the Old Gods

  5. Test champions chosen by prophecy
