Krinmar

👁️ The Krinmar

Origins & Nature

The Krinmar are colossal, semi-mythic beings said to descend from the same primal bloodline as the titans — though twisted, fractured, or diminished by ages of war and calamity. They are not true titans, but living echoes of that elder race: massive, armored, and possessed of both cunning and appetite for dominion. Legends say their flesh remembers storms, and their bones still thrum with the songs of the First World.

Appearance

  • Towering, broad-shouldered humanoids, ranging from 12 to 16 feet in height.

  • Their forms often carry strange asymmetry: extra heads, twisted limbs, or eyes that burn with unnatural light. Each Krinmar is singular in shape, yet all are bound by their immense size and titan heritage.

  • Their skin ranges from stone-grey to frost-pale, weathered like cliffs by time and battle.

  • They wear scavenged or custom-forged armor — crude by human standards, but grand when draped across their vast frames. Weapons are equally massive, often runed with ancient markings or reforged from relic steel.

Culture & Traits

  • Rarity: Krinmar are almost never seen. To most mortals, they are stories told around firesides, believed to be long dead or mythical.

  • Ambition: Those that appear are nearly always driven by conquest. They see themselves as heirs of dominion, destined to rule lesser races.

  • Isolation: Most Krinmar dwell alone, in slumber or exile, until awakened by omens or hunger for glory.

  • Bond to the North: The frozen wastes of the north are their last refuge, where echoes of titan-age storms still resonate. Here, they linger like kings without thrones, seeking followers among raiders, lesser creatures, or darker cults.

  • Warlord’s Nature: Unlike bestial giants, the Krinmar wield discipline, strategy, and charisma. They do not raid for hunger alone, but seek to found legacies of fire and iron.

Mythic Weight

  • Some whisper the Krinmar are the last children of Orrun, the Worldshaper, abandoned when titans fell.

  • Others claim they were cursed by Zorath, the Chainsworn, for betraying their oaths in the Titan Wars.

  • Cultists see them as avatars of strength and inevitability; nobles see them as existential threats; raiders see them as god-kings.

Presence in the World

  • Extremely Rare: Only a handful are said to exist in the whole of Tarsus. Most slumber in icy tombs, forgotten ruins, or mountain fastnesses.

  • When They Rise: Their ambition turns entire regions upside down. A single Krinmar can rally hobgoblin legions, cow raiders into service, or even demand parley with kings.

  • Enemies & Rivals:

    • House Thornvale remembers blood spilled against them in the Marches.

    • The Argent Spire studies their origins, fearing their titan-blood.

    • The Inquisitors of the Chain mark them as abominations.

⚔️ In Play:

  • Treat them as mythic warlords, rare “bosses” whose mere existence reshapes politics.

  • They embody both raw might (storm-fueled, titan-blooded strength) and ambition (strategists, commanders, conquerors).

  • A Krinmar is not just a monster — it’s an event.
